This 6- to 9-stop, 82mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND Filter from PolarPro is designed for lenses with 82mm front filter threads and provides an exposure reduction of 6- to 9 stops. The 1.8 to 2.7 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing the exposure time, you convey movement or increase the blur. By increasing the aperture, the image depth of field can be more easily controlled. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring features a numbered scale of the stop values, and it also features haptic feedback to feel a click when reaching a number without the need to look at the ring. The ring features side knurling for a secure grip, enabling fast and precise positioning, and it is designed to prevent any rotation beyond the stop values etched on it.

Which filter should i purchase to fit my Sigma 50mm and Sirui 50mm?
The PolarPro 82mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop), B&H # PO8269VNDED2, listed above would be compatible for use with the Sirui 50mm T2.9 Full Frame 1.6x Anamorphic Lens as it has 82mm front filter threads. As the Sirui 50mm f/1.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens uses smaller 67mm front filter threads, the PolarPro 67mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop), B&H # PO6769VNDED2, would instead be compatible for use with the Sirui 50mm f/1.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens. As the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens has 77mm front filter threads, the PolarPro 77mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop), B&H # PO7769VNDED2, would be the correct size filter for use on the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens.

Is there a "minimum" spot on this filter that is light enough to focus through? Or are you trying to focus through the 6-stop ND?
The minimum is the 6-Stop so that is what you'll be focusing through.

What is the difference between the Peter McKinnon ...
What is the difference between the Peter McKinnon Signature Edition PolarPro 77-6/9 filter for 249.99 vs. the one for 299.99?
The Polar Pro Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II ($249.99) is the newer variant of the filter. It has a haptic feedback mechanism that clicks to indicate when you've reached the next or previous stop. The ring is also a bit more gold than it's predecessor and comes in a smaller environmental friendly package. The older version ($299) comes in a bigger fancier box, does not have the haptic feedback and is optically the same as the newer variant. If I were you, I would go with the Signature Edition II, it's cheaper and it's the most updated version of the filter.

What's the difference between this filter and the ...
What's the difference between this filter and the seemingly identical Edition I version, which is $50 cheaper right here at B&H?
The version II has haptic feedback, so each stop has a click to notify you when you've reached the desired stop without really looking. It comes in a much smaller, eco-friendly package, a newly designed defender case and the trim is a little bit more gold. Optically there really isn't a difference. I have the original 2-5 and the newer 6-9 and the image is identical. Different color shifts but it's almost non-existant. Hopefully this helps!

Why would one choose 2-5 over 6-9 or vice versa? If I can only choose one which one would it be and why?
It all depends on what you are shooting, the type of lens you have and the lighting conditions, etc... If you have a very fast lens and it is very bright outside, then the 6-9 is more appropriate.
