Designed for up to 8K cine-style image capture and covering up to full-frame size sensors, the Leica L-mount 15mm T2.6 Cine Lens from IRIX incorporates multiple internal and external design features. This 15mm lens will produce a classic wide-angle look. External features include a 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gears, luminous focus marks in feet, and a detachable 1/4"-20 support foot.

Internally, nine blades produce smooth, rounded bokeh for natural-looking out-of-focus highlights. To help eliminate aberrations and distortion, the IRIX 15mm T2.6 Cine Lens is constructed with 15 optical elements in 11 groups, including three HRI (high refractive index) and two ED (extra-low dispersion) elements. A Multi-Start Thread focusing mechanism delivers quiet, precise focusing even in wet or humid conditions or in extreme temperatures. This lens has 180° of focus and 75° of iris rotation and it incorporates an 86mm front filter thread. Four seals protect against inclement weather and dust.

Cinematic Look
The IRIX Cine 15mm is a wide 43.3mm full-frame lens that uses 15 optical elements, including three high refractive index (HRI), two extra low-dispersion glass (ED), and two aspheric (ASP) elements, to create crisp cinematic shots in resolutions up to 8K while keeping the focus breathing at a minimum. This lens features a relatively fast T2.6 maximum aperture and can be stopped down to T22.
Wide-Angle Lens
Creates classic wide-angle shots with beautiful and vivid colors, sharpness, and minimal distortion.
Ready for Any Weather Condition
Rain or shine, the rugged and durable construction of the IRIX Cine 15mm guarantees that you can keep on working with whatever the weather throws at you. The lens is resistant to rain, sand, and dust, so you can take it for your next adventure in a desert or jungle if your camera can handle those environments. Engraved markings on the lens have been filled with UV-reactive paint, so filming in difficult lighting conditions becomes much easier.
Functionality and Innovation
All IRIX cinema lenses have very similar dimensions and weight, which allows for quick and easy lens changes without the need to change the rest of your setup. The product is equipped with a Magnetic Mounting System (MMS) that lets you connect accessories such as magnetic filters from the Irix Edge lineup or an optional lens hood.
Cine Standards
The IRIX Cine 15mm was designed in accordance with the standards of the professional film industry, being the result of a combination of traditional lens solutions and modern innovation. This 15mm has a front filter thread size of 95mm and geared 0.8 MOD rings, which ensures compatibility with most accessories available on the market.
Adaptive Gear Ring
The adaptive gear ring is an innovative function that you will love, no matter if you are a pro or an amateur. The ring has been designed to keep the lens housing sleek and user-friendly when operated manually without any compromises when you want to use your favorite cine gear.
Compact Design
This compact aluminum-magnesium alloy lens has a front external diameter of 95mm to fit most matte boxes and accessories, plus a front Magnetic Mount System (MMS) for rapid filter and hood replacement.
Magnetic Mount System
All IRIX Cine lenses with the Magnetic Mount System are compatible with the separately available IRIX Edge MMS filters and IRIX MMS lens hood. The IRIX Edge magnetic filters have a unique threadless design, so you can be sure that everything stays clean and ready for action. The MMS filters can be stacked together, enabling you to not only freely combine them but to save space when stored. All the IRIX Edge MMS filters are made of hardened optical glass (SR) with a multilayer, antireflective nano-coating that makes them easy to clean.

Nice little cine prime

Quality optics and build. Light for a cine prime, and easy to use. Works well on our RED Komodo. Smooth focus and aperture rings. The magnetic filter system is quick and easy. Also have the IRIX 30mm Cine T1.5. We tested both lenses and found no issues. The blue infinity marking really is at infinity and the other markings appear to be accurate as well. The only complaint is the rounded lens cap that comes with the lens. We were told that IRIX is going to offer the better, flat cap they provide with their 30mm T1.5 for this and older models. Kudos to them for that improvement. Overall, this is a surprisingly good cine prime series considering the low price.

15mm on S35 is great. I thought this would be too wide and wished IRIX made a 25 or 35 but actually to compliment the existing 45 they sell this 15 is a good match feeling wide but not super distorted wide. Magnetic hoods are cool, but not so much if you are filming metalworking - all the dust just sits on those magnets. Minor quibble but the lens is great!

I use this coupled with my BMPCC 6K Pro. Like most cinema lenses, this is massive. Be prepared for a workout if you are going handheld. Gearing is very smooth, although a bit stiff if not using a focus wheel. I own all of the cinema lenses and two of the three have decent magnetic hoods, while one does not appear to be as strong. This doesn't affect me as I utilize a matte box. Like most have stated, the lense cover is complete garbage. Pops off for no apparent reason.

Fundamentally flawed design

I purchased this lens and immediately had problems with it. The main design problem is that it wont mount on the majority or native PL mount cameras. Arri Alex, Alexa LF, Sony Venice. It seems to work only with PL mount adapters like Vocas and Metabones. Mainly because either the finger locks on the Alexa hit the aperture gears or the PL flange isn't deep enough to mount correctly and allow the Venice to lock. The second problem I had was that the flange depth was out quite badly and infinity was sitting around 8', everything at infinity mark is soft. Third problem is that the light baffle at the rear of the lens was loose which interfered with the rear element. Fourth cosmetic issue is the awful pinch style lens cap which will almost NEVER stay on in transit and will make the lens slip out of your hand if you grab it while its on. I contacted IRIX in Poland and I received a very blunt reply As this likely happened in transit it is out of our control, please contact a service centre So they were not willing to assist me in anyway which is completely unacceptable. My next step was to contact IRIX USA with my issues. The service contact was very helpful with assisting me, offering to replace the lens directly at no charge, so I returned it to B&H and was refunded as per their excellent refund policy. (thanks B&H). I eventually received a replacement about 5 weeks later with version 2 of the lens direct from Poland. The back focus seems to be ok and the rear light baffle is now secure, HOWEVER, The lens still wont mount on an Alexa or a Venice which was a monument waste of time and I get the feeling that I was sent a refurbished lens as there are small wear marks on various parts of the body, and lens caps.  It has been a massive disappointment and im surprised a company can send out a lens without checking it on commonly used PL mount cameras like the Alexa. One positive is the excellent service I received from Sarah and IRIX USA. I guess its such a low cost lens that one cant expect it to perform like a proper PL mount lens however the mount flaw is unacceptable.

I really enjoy this lens. The look of the image is sharp and feels amazing. The build is tanky. No regrets.

May be my new favorite lens!

Feels solid, but isn't overly heavy. Image quality is great and distortion is reasonable. I shoot it both full frame and S35 and it handles both well. As others have said, it's true that the lens cap is wonky. Apparently they have a fixed one that you can order separately and hopefully that's what will ship with new copies of the lens. I use it via an adapter and did have a little trouble finding a friendly one. Fotodiox PL-EF did NOT work. I eventually went with some no-names on eBay that did.

This is a really good lens. Great build quality, excellent performance, low distortion, little breathing. I'm going to get a set of these Irix Lenses, pretty impressed!

Would this 11mm be equivalent to a 24mm on Super35 sensor, specifically the Blackmagic 6K Pro?
Asked by: Richard
Used on the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (Canon EF) (B&H# BL6KPKCAMP) with its 1.6X crop-sized APS-C sensor, the IRIX 15mm T2.6 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (B&H# IRC15EFI) will render a field of view that is equivalent in its effective focal length to using a 24mm lens on a full frame sensor-equipped camera body. If you instead opt to use the IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (B&H# IRC11EFI) with that same camera then the field of view in terms of its its effective focal length would be equivalent to using an 18mm lens on a full frame sensor-equipped camera body.

What changes and how does the " An adaptive focus ring" adapt from manual to follow focus use?
Asked by: Rich
On the IRIX 15mm T2.6 Cine Lens, the focus ring does not change, but rather, it is conducive to both manual use (by hand) and for use with a follow focus (motorized or manual), due to it's ergonomic design, equipped with 0.8 pitch gear teeth.
