It never stoped to amaze me the kind of build this lens has. Nice big and a little on the heavy size. I will compromise well build for fragility, I may also add this has a very nice glass. Overall very satisfied with the lens.

Disappointed with the quality

I am disappointed with the quality. I received a damaged box, a poorly packaged lens, dirty on the outside and also on the glass. The small bag between the glass and the lens cap??? The lens cap is also very lousse and falls off easily ... I'm really disappointed with the quality of the packaging especially for a lens at this price.

Sharp as a tack!

I was a little bit skeptical about buying this lens at first considering that I've never heard of Irix before. However, don't let that stop you. This lens is extremely sharp, even at wide-open!!! The footage you can get with this lens at T1.5 is crazy! Not to mention that this lens doesn't have any noticeable color fringing, and is constructed out of a solid metal exterior, and doesn't flare at all when in direct sunlight. If you're looking for a budget cinema lens that punches a lot higher than its price, I can't recommend this lens enough.

Great Lens

I did a comparison between the Canon CNE 35mm and the IRIX 45mm and if you were not told you could not tell the difference. The sharpness, chromatic aberration, Lens flares, and bokeh looked really similar.

IRIX 45mm T1.5 Cine Lens

I've used this lens with my Sony A7S3 for only a couple weeks. I'm not a pro by any means but I've been shooting video for about 5 years. I've been using mostly Sony still camera lenses and their power zoom G kit lenses 18-104mm f4 and 28-135 F4. I like the power zoom but neither of these lenses are actually parfocal and they are not that sharp and prone to focus hunting. I got the IRIX as my first affordable cine lens. I like it for focus pulls which aren't easy or fun using autofocus lenses. The IRIX is sharp and the video looks professional when I'm doing my job behind the camera.

Astonishly good image and usability...

But unfortunately I've heard of some of them coming apart internally. So... hopefully mine lasts, because it certainly makes gorgeous images and is a pleasure to rig and use on set. I'd compare it and cut it with my Zeiss Milvus lenses, no joke.

I want to mount this lens on my PL-mount ZCAM camera and on my EF-mount Blackmagic 6K Pro. Which adapter ring is best?
Asked by: Richard
There are two options that would allow you to mount a PL lens like the IRIX 45mm T1.5 Cine Lens to your Black Magic Pocket 6K Pro. The best option is from Wooden ( BH #WO274700) which would convert your P6K to a PL mount camera. Also there are PL to EF adapters ( BH #FOPCEAAP ) that could also be an option. Please note that the IRIX lens has not been tested with the FotodioX PL to EF adapter.
