Complete with a silent, fanless design and up to 18 hours of battery life, the MacBook Air is still portable, but now a lot more powerful. It also has 8GB of unified RAM and a 512GB SSD.

With over 4 million pixels, the 13.3" Retina Display features a 2560 x 1600 screen resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). The display also features up to 48 percent more color than the previous generation. With True Tone technology, the white balance automatically adjusts to match the color temperature of the light around you for a more natural viewing experience.

Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and use compatible wireless peripherals and accessories with Bluetooth 5.0. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide USB4 support and can even connect to the Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution. Apple also included studio-quality mics for clear recordings and calls. There is also Apple's latest camera ISP in the M1 chip, which enables sharper images and more details in shadows and highlights in video calls. Keep your MacBook Air secure with Secure Enclave in M1 as well as Touch ID. The backlit Magic Keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience, and the Force Touch trackpad allows for precise cursor control, pressure-sensing capabilities, and Multi-Touch gestures.

Please note that this MacBook Air can only output to a single external display with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz.

This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple's website for upgrade eligibility.

Apple M1 Chip
Packed with 16 billion transistors, the Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Built with 5nm process technology, the Apple M1 delivers the performance you need without sacrificing power efficiency. The Apple M1 features four high-performance cores, each designed to run a single task, which allows for multithreaded workloads. There are also four efficiency cores to handle lighter workloads, using only a tenth of the power while still delivering fast performance. This means the Apple M1 performs up to 3.5 times faster than the previous generation while still delivering battery life up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 18 hours of video playback.
13.3" Retina IPS Display
With four times as many pixels as an HD display, the 13.3" Retina IPS Display provides up to 48 percent more color than the previous generation. The Retina Display has a 2560 x 1600 screen resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). The display glass goes right to the edge of the screen, making the bezels 50 percent thinner than before. Moreover, True Tone technology automatically adjusts the white balance to match the color temperature of the surrounding light.
True Tone Technology
With True Tone technology, the display delivers a more natural viewing experience for design and editing workflows, as well as everyday tasks like browsing the web and writing email.
Touch ID
The advanced security and convenience of Touch ID is built into the MacBook Air. Simply place your finger on the integrated Touch ID sensor and your MacBook Air unlocks. Use your fingerprint to immediately access locked documents, notes, and system settings. You can also use Apple Pay securely during checkout while online shopping. No need to enter shipping or billing info, and your card details are never shared.
Magic Keyboard
The Magic Keyboard on this MacBook Air features a scissor mechanism that delivers 1mm of key travel. There's also a physical Esc key and an inverted "T" arrangement for the arrow keys. Combined with the Touch ID, the Magic Keyboard provides a comfortable, accurate typing experience.
Thunderbolt 3 with USB4 Support
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also supports USB4, allowing you to connect to more peripherals, including the Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution.
Software Features
When compared to the previous generation, the M1-powered MacBook Air can:
  • Export a project for the web with iMovie up to 3x faster

Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Late 2020 Reviews

Miss the ports and CD/DVD drive

    By Katie

I got this machine to replace my 2011 MacBook. It's definitely missing some of the features the 2011 model had, specifically a CD/DVD drive, usb ports, and an SD card reader. I had to buy an external CD/DVD drive and connection adapter cables to connect w/ the printer and such. The multi-item connector hub I bought which has an SD card reader, USB ports, etc., doesn't connect with the SuperDrive CD/DVD drive, which is annoying. Mac requires a simple adapter and it won't work with this multi-port hub. Printing and such is a pain because adapters are required. Also, a lot of my 2011 software simply doesn't work on this machine. For example, my Canon printer can print, but the software for the scanner doesn't work. So a scanner that worked fine on my old machine doesn't work on this new machine. My 2011 version of Photoshop doesn't run on this machine. My 2011 Microsoft Suite doesn't run on this machine. So, a lot of disappointment. That said, it's super light, quiet, fast, and has a good display. The only downside has been the audio, which is odd. It's very muddy sounding-as if it's underwater. I've read reviews of this MacBook Air and many feel the same way-that Apply missed the mark with the audio here. I chose this machine because it was the least expensive Apple laptop I could find that had a 1TB HD.

Avoid PayBoo unless you can pay in full within first payment. They had hidden interest fee's after having a zero balance which is something we never saw with other credit cards. I also did some research and this credit card is most likely about to end soon. The computer is fine

With the sale B&H was running on this it was a no-brainer to buy. This is my portable to go with a Mac Studio on my desk. The specs were better than the current M1 mac, at $200 less money, so could not beat the deal. More than enough power for on the go work, even for light video editing with Davinci Resolve.

    Coming from Windows, whoa..

Windows feels like your grandma's house. You're treated nice, everything is just given to you on a silver platter, no fuss no muss.. On a Mac, at least for me, spending 30 years on Windows, this is the hipster who doesn't want you touching his things unless you have a real good reason and you pay money. Why the CMD button which is the CTRL button, have to be right next to the C and V keys, so awkward to copy and paste. And why does the Delete button act like the Backspace and the Backspace not even exist? Now don't get me wrong, the display is excellent, the sound blows me away, the fans make no noise.. why? There aren't any! I did hae this get a little hot on my lap, so I moved it to a little lap-desk and that helped. I think I'll get use to the keyboard subtleties after a while which is why I'm giving this 4.5 stars.

    Small Device - Works well

For the size, it works very well, and when accompanied with a Thunderbolt docking station for a larger 4K monitor, it's very good at what its supposed to do.

    Asked by: Robert
I've had my Macbook Air since 2014 - 8 years - and the battery is still fine except it won't hold a charge as long as I'd like. Still, for the money, this is a powerhorse computer. Battery problems are highly unusual for these machines.

This would not have an SD card slot, you would need an adapter or hub that has a card slot in order to do this. I have attached an Apple adapter for you that would work -----> https://bhpho.to/3ddJmd5
