Designed to accommodate electronic news gathering (ENG), electronic field production (EFP), documentary, and other field recording applications, the Auray BP-28CC 5-Section Carbon Fiber Boompole with Internal Cable and Bottom-Exit XLR offers a sturdy and lightweight solution for getting a microphone optimally close to the subject without entering the picture frame, letting you work fast and minimize fatigue. Plus, its coiled internal XLR cable, high-quality connectors, and bottom-exit configuration deliver reliable signal transfer and easy setup.

This BP Series boompole features five sections that smoothly telescope to provide adjustable reach from 2.2 to 7.7 feet. Thanks to the ergonomic twist locks and anti-twist alignment, the BP-28CC is easily expanded or collapsed with a single turn. Carbon fiber construction keeps the weight to a minimum, ensuring a great combination of dependability and portability. The inclusion of a custom removable tip and drop-through design allows the BP-28CC to support fast solderless cable replacement, so the shoot won't be delayed even if a cable or connector malfunctions.

Lightweight Carbon Fiber Construction

Lightweight carbon fiber construction keeps the weight of your gear to a minimum when you're trekking to a location. Carbon fiber ensures durability that can tolerate demanding travel and location shoots in all kinds of weather.

Arrowhead Tip

BP Series boompoles feature a special arrowhead tip designed to reduce weight at the top of the pole. It also allows easy drop-through cable insertion for quick and uncomplicated cable replacement. Thanks to the solderless design, you won't need special tools to replace the XLR cable with the cable replacement kit (available separately).

Strain Relief

On a busy set, cables are tugged and stepped on all the time, and putting excess tension on the cable could mean trouble without the proper strain relief design. The tip strain-relief system absorbs tension, secures the cable, and protects the cable from damage at the edges of the tip exit. Additional strain relief at the bottom of the pole protects and preserves the connections between the cable and the TA3 connector.

Smooth Telescoping

The ergonomic twist locks are covered with rubber grips that are easy on your hands, are comfortable to grip, and make length adjustment smooth and effortless. Improved shims ensure a firm and secure hold until you loosen the locks.

Anti-Twist Alignment Tubing

Quick length adjustment when you're shooting on the go is crucial to capturing the best sound. With an anti-twist design, adjacent tubes won't twist when you're expanding or retracting the boompole. This allows for one-handed twist lock operation and makes setup and length adjustment easy.

Coiled XLR Cable

The integrated coiled XLR cable minimizes radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic (EM) interference that can disrupt the audio signal. The coiled design allows the cable to smoothly extend and retract with the telescoping tubes.

Standard 3/8"-16 Threaded Mount

To ensure compatibility with the best mics and shockmounts, the pole is outfitted with a standard 3/8"-16 threaded mount that fits most shotgun microphone shockmounts.

Rean XLR Connector

High-quality Rean XLR and TA3 (mini XLR) connectors ensure a flawless signal transfer and secure locking connections so the coiled XLR cable won't disconnect, even if there's stress or an accidental tug on the cable.

Neutrik Bottom-Exit XLR Connector

The Neutrik bottom-exit connector is housed in its own casing and ensures a secure connection to the boompole that won't jeopardize signal flow by twisting or jiggling.
