Yes, provided the drive is formatted properly for the operation system in use. For macOS 10.12.4 later, it is recommended to format the drive in APFS and for earlier OS X/macOS versions, use HFS+: In Disk Utility, that will be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)."

The only difference with Samsung 1TB 860 EVO SATA III 2.5" is a bit of write and read speed I see, yes?

The 870 evo will be able to maintain peak read and write speeds for a longer time then the 860 evo due to the updated architecture. The Starting prices for the 870 evo are also lower the the 860 evo was when it was first released.
