Could you use this on an HDMI camera output to run a long SDI cable to an SDI switcher? I'm trying to avoid using HDMI extenders.
Asked by: Dennis
You could but you do not need the Bidirectional model unless the camera is one of the Blacmagic controllable HDMI models. You could simply use one of the Micro Converters HDMI to SDI and back using just one long SDI cable. Or use the Bidirectional if you want an HDMI feed going back using two SSI cables.

For the purposes of an external screen share, my ...

For the purposes of an external screen share, my Macbook has HDCP issues (black/flickering screen) that prevents me from plugging a USB-C to HDMI cable directly into my HDMI matrix. Currently, I am able to work around this issue by using a dedicated HDMI switch as an intermediary device. Could I use this instead in between my HDMI Matrix and macbook to convert the signal from hdmi to hdmi? Upstream from the HDMI martix is an Atem Mini Pro so I'm assuming that this Blackmagic device has a compatible video output. Thanks in advance!
Asked by: Dexter
Unfortunately, the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G will not solve your problem.
