By B&H Photo's

Compact and comfortable, the AF 33mm f/1.4 E from Viltrox is a normal-length prime lens designed for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. The versatile normal field of view is suitable for a wide range of subjects, from portraiture to reportage, and the fast f/1.4 design excels in low-light conditions and for shallow depth of field applications. The optical design incorporates extra-low dispersion and high refractive index elements to suppress a variety of aberrations and distortion and an HD Nano multi-layer coating has also been applied to reduce flare and ghosting for greater contrast in bright and backlit conditions.

Complementing the optics, the lens's design also incorporates an STM stepping motor that affords fast, near-silent, and accurate autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. An internal focusing design also contributes to quick performance. Additionally, the lens features an integrated micro-USB port for making future firmware updates to the lens.

Prime normal-length lens is designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 50mm equivalent focal length.
Bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field.
One extra-low dispersion element reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve a high degree of clarity and color accuracy.
One high refractive index element helps to control spherical aberrations and reduce distortion in order to realize high sharpness and accurate rendering.
HD Nano multi-layer coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.
STM stepping motor enables quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. Additionally, an internal focusing design maintains the overall lens length during use for improved handling and quicker response.
Integrated manual aperture ring for tactile exposure control; this ring also features an 'A' position for automated, camera-based aperture selection.
Nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
Integrated micro-USB port can be used to update the lens's firmware.

Really great utility lens for a mirrorless

I bought this as a 50ish equivalent utility lens for my M50, and it definitely fits the bill. It's on my camera more often than not. The all metal mount and build on this lens feels super sturdy and pleasant to use. The design of the lens hood is also great because you can still access the focus ring when it is reversed. The aperture ring is clickless and very smooth to operate. I actually like using this lens manually more often than using the autofocus. Make sure you immediately update the firmware with this lens. The new firmware version makes autofocus work very well, whereas it's not usable at all before the firmware update. If there's any performance difference in autofocus, I don't notice it when compared to my Canon lenses. The Lightroom/Photoshop profiles do well at correcting in post. This lens does have considerable and noticeable magenta chromatic aberration in bright sunlight (I live in South Florida, so this matters to me). Were it not for this, the lens would definitely be a five-star performer.

.... then could not change aperture setting using a6000 wheel. But out of the box, it worked perfect for a few days. Clear, and 1080p was as sharpe as 4K. The price point was a bargain until.

Good lens for indoor photography at f1.4. Nice depth of field. Better value then Canons equivalent lens.

An as lo encontr a excelente precio.

SO i recently just bought this & put on my Canon M50 mark ii & the aperture just keeps moving on its own. Does that mean my lens is broken?!! Bc i’ve literally tired everything. It won’t stop & I can’t even take a picture

If the physical aperture ring is moving on its own, that would be a defect in the unit. If on your camera it is showing the aperture changing on its own it could be a number of things. Check to see if your physical aperture ring is set to A, if it is, then you that means you control the aperture from the camera and could be changing on its own if you are in aperture priority or program mode.
