Kandao 8K Enterprise Reviews
Decent quality 8k...
The quality of the camera is pretty decent, however for the price, there are a lot of small things that make this camera less desirable. 1) You can shoot raw DNG imagery with the unit but you CAN'T process the raw DNG's in the studio editor (so if you're trying to retain color/bit-depth you can't). 2) You can only export photos as a JPEG or 8-bit PNG when stitching together. There's no option for 10bit+ TIFF, PNG, DPX, or DNG like other camera manufacturers offer. 3) The software for the camera is ultra minimalistic... to the point where you really can only do 2 or 3 things in the app - change the horizon, and check 6 boxes (Stitching mode, Stabilization on/off, and processing with Optical flow, gravity correction color correction, and defringe). That's it. There's literally nothing else the software app does. 4) There's no way to turn the sound off on the unit when it's taking photos. It gets REALLY annoying after 2 or 3 minutes of listening to it. 5) Timelapse mode doesn't offer the ability to choose your own duration. You're only given what the company has programmed into the unit. (2 seconds up to 2 minutes). 6) The video quality is 'meh' in 8k. While it looks pretty good on a 4k monitor, it looks like straight-up garbage on an 8k monitor. 7) The battery drains FAST... and I mean fast. On a full charge, you'll be lucky if you get 50 minutes of continued use out of it. You have to have USB power if you plan on using it for extended periods of time. On the positive side, the controls are quite intuitive, they work and are responsive. It's not hard to navigate and setup is easy. Overall if they just changed a few things about the actual device and actually cared about the studio software, this would be a super solid device. Because their software is so lacking though, it's hard to call this 'professional'. It works... but requires a ton of extra effort to make it work like it should.
Great VR360 camera
I love this camera! It does exactly what is described. I haven't used the Live feed yet, but I do hope so in the future. It looks great in 8k and you can change the settings to adjust for dark settings. The 8k shoots at 30fps and the 4k can shoot up to 120fps. The app has a lot of great features you can use to be creative with the camera. Definitely a great purchase.
