Bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field.
One SD element reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve a high degree of clarity and color accuracy.
Multi-layer coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.
STM stepping motor enables quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. Additionally, an internal focusing design maintains the overall lens length during use for improved handling and quicker response.
De-clicked aperture ring offers silent and smooth aperture transitions to benefit video recording. Also, this ring features an 'A' position for automated, camera-based aperture selection.
Nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

I was looking for a lens normal lens for my Fuji X-S10. I compared the Tokina with other two other 33mm lens. I like the Tokina specs and the price doesn't break the bank. The reviews I read indicated other people who bought this lens spoke highly of it. I like the metal build quality. The lens is fast, and the Bokek is very smooth. I am very happy with this lens, and I'm glad I chose the Tokina.

Is this lens identical to the viltrox 35mm F1.4? ...

Is this lens identical to the viltrox 35mm F1.4? they both have the same lens elements (10 Elements in 9 Groups) and look very much the same in the photos, but this tokina is much pricier.
Asked by: micah
I had both of these lenses, the Viltrox 33mm f1.4 and the Tokina ATX-M 33mm f1.4. Except for the firmware and slight differences in the mount hardware, both of these lenses are identical and were made by the same no-name third-party Chinese lens manufacturer. Tokina had Fuji supply the firmware and mount hardware so the ATX-M 33mm works just like any Fuji or Zeiss Touit lens. Viltrox reverse engineered the firmware themselves and you have to use a microUSB port on the bottom of the lens mount for upgrades because you can't load Viltrox firmware through you Fuji camera. My Viltrox lens had plenty of CA and vignetting in the corners which I never saw with the Tokina lens. To me the reliability of the Fuji firmware and ease of upgrades was worth the higher price of the Tokina ATX-M 33mm f2.4
