ASUS B550M-C/CSM Overview

Bring reliability and control to your enterprise workstation with the Pro B550M-C/CSM AM4 Micro-ATX Commercial Motherboard from ASUS. Designed for commercial applications, this micro-ATX motherboard incorporates the B550 chipset and AM4 socket, making it compatible with AMD 3000-, 4000 G-, and 5000-series processors. Install up to 128GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM across four memory slots, with speeds up to 4800 MHz supported when overclocking. Connect drives using four SATA III or two M.2 M-Key interfaces. Various adapter cards can be installed using the PCIe 4.0 x16, PCIe 3.0 x4, and 5V 32-bit PCI connectors. An E-Key M.2 slot is also present, supporting an optional user-installed wireless adapter card.

A rear stainless-steel I/O panel sports one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port and one Type-C port, as well as two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and two 2.0 Type-A ports. Connect an older mouse or keyboard using two PS/2 ports. Interface with multiple displays, thanks to an HDMI and two DisplayPort outputs. Audio connectors include three 3.5mm jacks, while an RJ45 port supports Gigabit Ethernet. Internal headers support four USB 3.2 Gen 1 and four 2.0 Type-A ports, as well as two case fans, a chassis intrusion alarm, clear CMOS button, debugging LED, Thunderbolt, and front speakers. Audio is handled by the Realtek ALC887 and 897 Codecs, which support 7.1 Surround Sound and 24-bit, 192 kHz playback. In addition to an integrated TPM chip, this commercial motherboard also features ASUS Control Center Express for easier remote management and IT operations. The ASUS Pro B550M-C/CSM is compatible with the Windows 10 64-bit operating system.

Simple, solid, good price. Replaced an Asrock board with bad USB ports and very slow boot. Why the PCI slot? I'd rather have another PCIe x4 slot sharing lanes with the second M.2 slot.

No-nonsense rocksolid board.

I chose this board because it doesn't have hideous LEDs drawing attention to it constantly. I use it with a ryzen 5 3600 6-core Processor, and an old RME PCI audio card as a music recording computer. It functions perfectly, has just the right feature set, an easy to use BIOS, and is beautiful in its simplicity. I can't speak to how good of a board this is for gaming, as I use it strictly for computer music, but it is an ideal board for music, and any standard Windows applications.
