Kirk BL-Z7II Overview

The BL-Z7II L-Bracket for Nikon Z 7 II, Z 6II, and Z 5 Cameras from Kirk Enterprises is designed with anti-twist flanges that prevent unwanted camera movement within the bracket. Its Arca-type compatible dovetail design enables the camera to mount in a vertical or horizontal position when shooting together with a tripod and compatible head.

The black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum L-bracket has a slotted design for side port access and does not block the LCD monitor from tilting. It allows access to controls, ports, and the battery door, and has a hand strap loop machined on the right-hand side. The base incorporates a stainless steel QD (Quick Disconnect) System receiver for a sling or shoulder strap. The included 5/32" short hex wrench is used to tighten the L-bracket to the body and then can stored via the built-in hex wrench storage system. A 1/4"-20 mounting hole is located on the bottom and sensor centering lines are on the back for precision the camera alignment can on a tripod head. The BL-Z bracket is compatible with the FTZ adaptor but will only work when there is not an L-bracket or plate attached to the FTZ adaptor.

NOTE: The BL-Z7 II does NOT fit the Nikon Z 7 or Z 6 camera bodies.

  • Change vertical or horizontal orientation without losing the center of axis

Will this leave enough space to ensure a secure grip on a tripod if a Cotton Carrier CCS Flat Camera Hub is installed to it?
Asked by: Nathalie
I would suggest using the Cotton Carrier CCS Arca-Type Universal L-Bracket (B&H # CO222CLB) with this setup, because it's designed to work with the CCS Hub and allow for secure clamping.

Would this work with a DJI Ronin RSC2?
Asked by: Fel
No, Kirk BL-Z7II L-Bracket for Nikon Z 7II, Z 6II, and Z 5 can not be connected to DJI RSC 2 Gimbal Stabilizer. The clamps on the video gimbal was design with safety release pins which blocks other plates from being slide on the clamp. You can only use RSC 2 proprietary plates.
