Easy to break Knobs

Would put a 5 star review. But the knobs feel awkward to use, and one of them broke in the first minute out of the box. Still usable if you take the whole knob.

Great Key Light

I am very happy with this budget strobe. I use it as my main key light with a softbox and I rarely have it at more than 33% intensity. It's color accurate, very bright and very quiet. Highly recommended for a small production or another similar use.

An amazing light!!!

Not only is this light incredible in terms of build quality and color accuracy, it is extremely affordable. I have worked with both the Aputure 120D and Aputure C300 in the past and the light does not sacrifice quality at the price point.

I own a Aputure Lightstorm 120D Mark II and bought this as a fill light. I did no expect it to be as bright as the 120D, but it is - and bi-color to boot. It is also well made, out of metal. the Sidus Link BT capability is great too, as my 120D II doesn't have that. I was quite shocked at the high quality of the device vs the cost. The only downside is it comes with no case - but the box it comes in can work in a pinch.

Love it!

Banding in Low Intensity Setting

By Dexter

I use these lights from time to time for photography if I don't feel like using strobes. These are fine (100x Bi-color) but don't put it on low settings (25% or below) or you will get banding in the shadow areas regardless of shutter speed setting (even with those flicker reduction settings on modern mirrorless cameras). I also have the 200x but I don't get banding from that one. Either I have a faulty 100x or it's possible that it's not truly a flicker-free LEDs.

Very good product

Great, solid build, plenty of light for my purposes: indie filmmaking (of course I have other lights). If you have budget issues - and who doesn't? - you probably could save a few dollars and just buy the the non-bicolor light since there are ways in camera (gels for example) and in post to create a warm 3200 look. I would of given it five stars, but the plastic tightening arm on the bottom does not give me warm fuzzies. It's definitely solid, but I wouldn't tighten it with too much arm power as it could be a weak point, but overall it's a great, budget friendly light.

How loud is the fan noise?
Asked by: Ethan
Staff answer is most likely inaccurate. The 100d and 200d both have a fan, so it's safe to assume the 'x' models will as well. According to a certain reviewer's tests the 100d comes in around 31 dBa and the 200d around 35 dBa; the 'x' models will be similar

It's a COB LED with a mix of daylight and tungsten stripes (phosphors), essentially. So, it is both daylight and warm white.

When these lights are plugged into power, will they automatically turn back on? I'm looking for lights that when I turn on the switch they are plugged into, they will AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON without having to press a button on the light fixtures themselves. Also, does the fixture maintain it's last settings? Thank you!

These lights have a inline switch.

What is the lumens/output brightness of this bi-color model? Aputure has disclosed it for their daylight models, but hidden it for this.
Asked by: Paul
B&H Staff answer to this question is INACCURATE. They are reading from the spec sheet on the 100d which has much higher lumens output by nature of being a daylight-only LED element, compared to this bi-color LED element.
