Corsair RM650x Reviews

Quiet, efficient, reliable

Very quiet PS that powers my Gigabyte AORUS, AMD 5800X, 4 sticks of DDR4, midrange video card, two NVM.e drives, and external backup SSD with no problem. If you have a higher-end video card or more drives than I do, consider stepping up to at least 750W, but for me, 650W has been plenty. The beauty of a modular power supply like this one is that you only plug in the supplied wiring that you need to fire up your gear. No SATAe drives in your build? Leave all that wiring out, which you couldn't do with an older, non-modular PS. The modular PSes give a neater build with better airflow. You do need to make sure before ordering that this PS has the ports and modular wiring to power your gear, though. One port and wire not supplied by most ATX PSes including the Corsair RMs at this date is a 4-pin ATXV1 connection which some mobos such as my Gigabyte AORUS Ultra for AMD can use in extreme overclocking. Fortunately this connection is optional. If you need it, look around; some other ATX PSes do have an extra 4+4 CPU port and wire for this purpose. (No, you cannot use a PCI-E PS port or wire for this, as PCI-E is grounded differently than the extra CPU connection.)

Great!

Works great! Love that it's modular and only have to plug up what cables I need and not have a lot of excess unused cables. Extremely quite since fan only comes on as needed. Great product!

A pleasure to work with this!

ALL necessary cables were included - more than I presently need. This was part of a new build in a Corsair 275R case, which it fit well. Thanks for including all screws!
