I was looking to get a taller tripod because the one I currently use is more of a travel tripod and a little short for me. This one fit what I was looking for and B&H got it to me quickly and in good condition.

For most of my photography I shoot hand-held and have never looked forward to the experience of setting up a tripod until I pulled the trigger on the TFC-34. Wow, what a difference a high quality tripod makes. I was using a travel tripod previously since I'm usually out hiking with my camera and light weight and small size matters. However, with most travel tripods I've used (including by beloved Peak Design CF travel tripod) they hold your gear, but they've never really felt truly stable. The TFC-34 is solid as a rock. The legs have a wide diameter and when you have it set up, even fully extended it is unflinching in its stability. In short, if you can afford it you won't regret it. Also for those wondering about which height to go with, I am 6' tall and debated whether to go with the 34 or 34L before settling on the 34. With a BH-40 ball head, legs fully extended, and full-body Z9 on top, it is actually too tall in most situations and I find that I end up only partially extending the lowest section to keep the viewfinder at eye level. Hope this helps anyone considering this tripod!

Serious tripod worth every penny

This is my first real tripod and I'm quite proud to own it. The build quality is exceptional. It looks very heavy but it's not. I carry this tripod with me all over the world. It packs into a rollerboard suitcase, not a 20 but a 26. I sometimes wish I had the Versa version, but this tripod packs tighter than the Versa and RRS makes a screw-on leveling base which is an excellent addition.
