This is the Tripod I always dreamed of owning. Supremely well-made with exquisitely machined components, it it is beautiful in its own understated way. For the wandering photographer, it brings the perfect combination of stability and weight. Not cheap, but worth every cent, and a satisfying investment I expect to serve me for the rest of my life.

Lightweight and Rock Solid

What they say about tripods is true: you buy a super cheap one, then progressively better ones over the years, arguing each time that THIS will be the one to satisfy all of your requirements. Well I have hit the pinnacle. There will be no better tripod to buy. This particular one is the right height for me. I am 71 tall and the tripod is 66. Accounting for head height and camera/viewfinder height and the fact that I oftentimes point up into the sky, this tripod provides a comfortable working height compared to a lot of models out there.

Lightweight and solid!

I just received my TFC-24L paired with a RRS BH-30 ball head and took it for a test. I was planning to be gone maybe 30 minutes but instead, I took a really nice walk because the weight with my D500 and 105mm macro was 1/3 of the weight with my previous tripod!! ROCK solid locking onto butterflies and dragonflies with zero slip with the ball head. I was a little worried how the BH-30 would work with my Nikkor 200-500 which is a bit of a beast, but no issues. I am glad I went with the lighter BH-30, I can always put my Gimbal on the tripod with the bigger lens if necessary (and I am not going to carry it very far!) I am 6'3 and it looks like the tripod and ball head will be tall enough for me for anything short of directly overhead. Meets my high expectations 100%. I'm confident this tripod will last me a long time! Worth spending the $$$ now, instead of $$ multiple times!

Great All-Rounder Tripod

I went with this tripod to fill the gap between my big and heavy Gitzo 4 series and the series 1 traveler. It is is my first choice for travel with my long lens wildlife setup of a 100-400mm or 500mm f/5.6. The long version is essential for height comfort as the standard version is way too short for most anyone seeking eye-level camera viewing. I went with the TFC version over the TVC since it is more compact and I have no intention of adding a center column or a video bowl.
