Freewell Mist Edition Threaded Bright Day Variable ND Filter (77mm,2 to 5-Stop)

The 2 to 5-stop, 77mm Mist Edition Threaded Bright Day Variable ND Filter from Freewell is a 77mm, variable 2 to 5-stop neutral density filter that incorporates a 1/8 VND layer of mist diffusion. The filter darkens the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than is usually possible to reduce the depth of field or extend shutter speeds to increase image blur. When shooting video content, it allows for finer control of frame rate, exposure, and depth of field. The degree of density is controlled by rotating the front filter ring, which offers numbers representing the different stop values and haptic feedback clicks when reaching a number. The integrated 1/8 VND reduces the look of digital sharpness and enhances light bloom without sacrificing overall sharpness. Made of multicoated optical glass, this filter features a slim design to prevent vignetting in lenses down to 16mm.

The Freewell Mist Edition VNDs have a 1/8-strength mist diffusion integrated into both the 2-5 stop and 6-9 stop variable neutral density filters.
