Sirui 24mm F/2.8 Anamorphic Reviews

Sirui 24mm f/2.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens does not disappoint.

Sirui 24mm f2.8 is a low budget Anamorphic lens which MFT owners should not underestimate its performance and quality. I have tried this lens on both Gh5 and Gh6, and the footage I got exceeded my imagination, considering the low-cost nature of the lens. Anamorphic lenses are usually expensive. If you already own Gh6/Gh5, please buy Sirui 24mm f2.8 Anamorphic 1.33x lens, and you will never regret your purchase. Note: Also, if you own both MFT and Sony a7 series cameras, don't waste money to buy Sirui Super35 version for Sony E-mount cameras. You will be able to pair Sirui 24mm 1.33x lens with FotodioX M4/3-Nex adapter to shoot any cinematic/anamorphic footage you want with your Sony a7 series camera(s). I tried it on my a7 IV with FotodioX adapter and I love the footage.

Well built lens and the light effects are fun. If you want to add anamorphics to your lens collection, this a good place to start. It does have it's own look and is nice to have.

Really no complaints here, it is muuch better than you would expect at the price point. Is it the perfect anamorphic lens? no. But again, for the price, it is really good.

Not just for video, awesome for photos

I bought the Sirui 24mm and 50mm for photography and haven't been disappointed yet. They're both heavy lenses with a lot of glass and provide a unique look. I shoot them on a Fuji XT4. The 24mm desqueezed gives the horizontal aspect of a 16mm. When fully processed, they effectively turn the standard 3:2 image into a 4:2.

just mount and shoot! if your camera is in the 16:9 mode, the picture on the preview screen looks almost like with a normal lense. in post, you'll desqueeze and baam.. got the cinematic look. only one downside: lense is quite heavy.

Is this only for the crop Z50? What about Z6/Z7?
Asked by: Chris
It can be used on the Z6/Z7 however only in DX mode. If you shoot in FX mode, you'll see the lens barrel and need to spend time cropping it in post, killing your resolution. You'd be better fit shooting in DX mode and the sensor crop is done for you in-camera, maintaining the 4K UHD resolution. The camera's image can be de-squeezed for you in real time using a Ninja V or BMD Video Assist via the HDMI out.

Would a Metabones Ultra Cine T .71x speed booster EF Lens to MFT Camera work with a EF-M Lens?
Asked by: Kristopher
I'm sorry to say that the Sirui 24mm f/2.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens (EF-M Mount) will not work with EF adapters like the Metabones Ultra Cine T .71x speed booster EF Lens to MFT adapter. The best solution would to use the Sirui 24mm MFT mount model with your camera. Sirui 24mm f/2.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens (MFT Mount) BH #SI24AM43ML

It blows my mind they did not make a normal EF mount for this lens. Anybody know of an EF-M to EF mount adapter? Been browsing here on B&H but I’m not having any luck.
Asked by: Tim
Sirui only makes this lens for for Mirrorless cameras. They do not offer an EF version at this time. Also, you cannot adapter EF-M lenses to work on an EF camera.
