I picked up an X-E4 to have a more compact camera using my Fuji primes. I wanted to keep it simple and carry it in a small bag (Domke F-9 JD) with one lens mounted and two stacked. I didn't want anything that would hang up the camera going in and out of the bag. But the F-9 turned out to have plenty of room for the 3-lens kit. I wasn't feeling quite as secure with the pared down (compared to the X-E3) body of the X-E4. So I got the grip. And I like it. No hang-ups and it dramatically improves the handling and holding.

This is my third Fujifilm X camera and I love it, only it's not so comfortable paired with a heavier lens, like my 55-200mm. Enter the Fujifilm MHG-XE4 hand grip. This provides excellent purchase and comfort while hand holding this duo. Combine it with the Peak Design Cuff and you have a kit that can be hand held for some time. I also appreciate the Arca Swiss bottom plate that makes attachment to a tripod very convenient. And when I shoot with a smaller prime lens the grip can be removed in about 5 seconds, if you remember to bring along a small coin for the attachment bolt. The grip adds only a very small amount of weight and size to the package. So, yes, Five Stars!

I have a tripod head that needs this type of base-plate; it fits perfectly with my Really Right Stuff ball head. The hand grip is a plus and will pair nicely with the thumb grip when that becomes available. The hand grip is a little rubber-y feeling, so is easy to hold, and it visually matches the texture of the XE-4 body. Glad I purchased.

No. The MHG-XE3 doesn't fit. The Meike MK-XE3G grip doesn't fit the X-E4 either.)
The Lensmate LM-XE3 Thumbrest DOES fit though. (If you can find one.) :)
