Long-reaching yet lightweight, the FUJIFILM XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 R LM OIS WR is a versatile 107-457mm-equivalent telephoto zoom positioned to be an ideal companion for long-range outdoor shooting. Ideally suited for landscape, wildlife, and nature photography, this zoom features a versatile feature-set, including 5.5 stop-effective OIS to help reduce camera shake, unique close-focusing capabilities for working with nearby subjects, and fast AF performance due to a smooth, quiet linear motor. The lens also sports a weather-sealed design to benefit working in harsh climates. Optically, this lens features a pair of extra-low dispersion elements and one aspherical element to correct a variety of aberrations and realize a high degree of sharpness and clarity. Additionally, a nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when working with selective focus techniques.

FUJIFILM XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 R LM OIS WR Reviews
I've had the lens a few weeks, I was first impressed with the size. It's only a little bit larger than my Fuji compact 50-230, and the performance increase is big. The long focusing switch is very nice, I'm getting shots much quicker. Very sharp and I'm happy with the color and contrast. All this with water resistance is just great for a sub $1k lens.
It's a FUJIFILM lens
Sharp fast it didn't disappoint AF & IS was spot on.
Sharp, good reach, good close focus; a very versatile lens
I'm enjoying the reach for birds and such. The close focus distance is a great bonus, although I'm still getting used to how shallow the depth of field is at those distances, even at f8--not the fault of the lens; it's just physics. With a bit of cropping, it's a good stand-in for a macro lens. The bokeh up close is nothing to write home about.
FUJIFILM XF 70-300mm
Great lightweight lens, but I don't understand why it took so long to get.
70-300 vs 100-400
I took this new lens out for a test run and was fairly impressed with it. I previously owned a 100-400 and no doubt the 100-400 is sharper. But, the portability of the 70-300 and using a 1.4 extender was impressive enough so that I don't regret getting a zoom with the reach of this new lens and giving up the heft of the much heavier lens. I would probably have rated it 5 stars had I not owned the 100-400. But this is an easy lens to carry and hand hold and a great lens for an older photographer like me!
Nice walk around lens.
I use this lens on hikes instead of the bigger 100-400 lens. Very impressed with image quality. Reasonably light. My only complaint has been the lens hood has fallen off a few times.
Long wait but worth it
Very nice hiking telephoto lens.
Thrilled to add this to my kit
I am a total amateur so this review may not be as technical as you would get from a professional photographer. This is my 2nd lens from B&H. I am stoked to have finally received it since it has been on backorder for some time. But, customer support stated that if I did order against the backorder, that it would ship as soon as available. It took a bit over 2 months but it finally arrived (in time for my trip to So-Cal). So, I am thrilled. I have been a customer of B&H for more than 5 years and they are my #1 go-to for anything photography related.
