Sporting a slim and portable form factor, the XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR from FUJIFILM is characterized by its updated exterior design and versatile 41mm equivalent focal length for everyday shooting. Now featuring a weather-sealed construction, this wide-normal prime also incorporates a manual aperture ring for intuitive and tactile exposure control, however an 'A' position can also be used for camera-based settings adjustments.

In terms of optics, one aspherical element is featured and helps to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations, and a Super EBC coating has also been applied to control flare and ghosting. Additionally, benefitting both photo and video applications, a high-torque DC coreless motor is used to realize quick, accurate, and near-silent autofocus performance.

Short normal-length prime is designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 41mm equivalent focal length.
Modestly bright f/2.8 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light, affords control over depth of field, and helps to keep the overall physical design compact and lightweight.
Pancake form factor measures less than 1" thick for an ultra-portable, versatile design.
One aspherical element limits distortion and spherical aberration in order to realize greater sharpness and accurate rendering.

Nice run around grab and go addition ... with my fuji xpro-2...focus motor rather loud....other than that, great lightweight addition....kinda scary it makes camera so light.....

Most of my lenses are between 35mm and 60mm, and this lens' pancake design and light weight make it ideal for my XT-1 as the resulting kit is very light and compact.

Turns your Fuji X-E into a virtual X100V

There should be more love for this little gem. 27mm is wide enough that a few steps farther back it will substitute for a 23mm; at worst, take a few portrait-oriented photos and stitch panorama in post. 27mm is also standard enough that with slight crop it can substitute for a 35mm. It's small, and my copy at least is incredibly sharp. What I use it for: I put this on my X-E3, wrap it in Domke wrap and keep it in my backpack or other bag so I have a great camera with me at all times. Remember, f/11 and be there. The only downside is that it is one of the most noisy of Fuji lenses. You'll want to manually focus it if you're in a cathedral, library, or other quiet place.

Wanted a smaller Pancake lens for street photos for my XT5, and this has not disappointed. Camera is now light and easy to get those quick street shots when lots of people are around and keep moving quickly.

For me, and my intended usage, the revised 27mm WR is a reasonable compromise for the pancake form factor. AF slow and noisy, close focus non-existent, F/2.8 unremarkable, Fuji tax means $400+ for a very basic item. On the other hand, the WR and aperture ring are solid upgrades on the prior version at the same/similar form factor and makes my X-E nearly pocketable. I knew most of this going in, and it's still a fairly decent piece of kit, but in any situation where size is less an issue I'll grab the 18-55 or 35 1.4 for the versatility or speed.

Great pocketable lens

This is one of my favorite lenses for my Fuji X-T2. The 40ish mm equivalent focal length is great for so many things and the tiny size means I can fit my camera in a pocket during back country skiing and easily pull it out for use instead of having to keep my larger Sony system in a backpack and go through a bit more hassle to take a picture. Anyway, this is my favorite lens for my Fuji. I will note that the focusing motor is pretty loud which did surprise me since a lot of Fujis other WR lenses are near silent.

Great for everyday carry & street photography

Wonderful walk around lens for my Fujifilm X-E3 and X-T30 cameras. It allows me to fit either camera along with my laptop in my work backpack so I can take it with me and practice street photography on my way to the office.
