I love this cage, but it flexes quite a bit. Also, the red rosette that holds the top handle came loose an is a pain to tighten if you even can get it right.

What's the best way to attach a nato rail to the left side without blocking the port doors?

Mounting the NATO rail as low as possible on the left side of the Tilta Half Camera Cage for Sony a7S III (Tactical Gray) would be the best way to avoid blocking the HDMI port door, however, the door still may be slightly blocked.

Would this fit the Sony A7 II?

The Tilta Half Camera Cage for Sony a7S III (Black) may work with the Sony a7 II Mirrorless Camera, which is very close but not exactly the same size as the Sony a7S III Mirrorless Camera. If you would like to get a cage you know for sure will work with your camera I would recommend the SmallRig Accessory Kit for Sony a7 II, a7R II, and a7S II Cameras (BH #SM2014D). The rule of thumb is a camera will fit only if its name is in the name of the cage. Therefore, unfortunately, this will not fit. Tilta specifically says this is for the a7S II. No other camera is mentioned. For the a7 III, this cage is what Tilta states will fit. Yes the LW Baseplate mount can be removed from the Tilta cage. If you want to work with Arca Swiss please add the following plate to the cage B&H # TIAT18QRBP4B
