The Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 MACRO O.I.S. Lens from Panasonic is a telephoto zoom lens designed for full-frame format L-mount camera bodies and takes dynamic macro photos and sharp video, giving photographers the versatility needed to capture any moment. Well suited to sports, action, and wildlife photography and video, this lens features advanced image stabilization that powerfully corrects shake in telephoto shooting and enables shooting at slower shutter speeds. Half-macro and conventional tracking accuracy have been combined by increasing the zoom position detection performance by three times, and telephoto operation offers precise zoom tracking control up to eight times faster than other lenses due to wobbling control at 240 Hz. Suppressed focus breathing allows shooting still, smooth video with ease, and dust-, splash-, and freeze-resistance allows shooting even under harsh conditions. Enjoy the rugged versatility of this lens and keep it by your side to prepare for the unexpected!

Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 MACRO O.... Reviews
Awesome quality - Not heavy for a zoom lens
I love using this lens on my Lumix S5. It's sharp, light, compact and is easy to carry around.
Nice fit for the CL...
This lens replaces my 55-135mm TL, as it has stabilization, longer reach, and weighs only a little more than the TL lens. Color is Leica-like, and the lens is plenty sharp, even good for incidental bird photography of more confiding birds. B&H's shipping was fast, although they might want to consider using a bit more tape for international shipments, as the box was nearly open at one end when I received it.
Nice Addition To Your Travel Kit
I purchased a used copy of this lens from B&H to go along with my S5/20-60mm kit. The result is a very nice, portable travel kit that is both affordable as well as capable of creating very good images. The 70-300mm is light and compact. The build is very good. The optics are good and consistent with the better lenses in this price category. The camera and lenses fit conveniently in a bag. Perfect for a walk at home or abroad. There is a review above that ditzes this lens because reviewer felt the lens, while not bad, did not compare favorably with his Leica lenses. Such a comparison is silly and reflects an absence of understanding by the reviewer about what this lens is about. This is a good lens that is fun to use and fairly priced.
This is a great lens for the Leica SL2!
This lens is great on the SL2! Quite a bit smaller than the Sigma 100-400 which is also great IMHO! But for every day carry in a smallish ONA Rochester bag this is great! Very happy with image quality too! As a macro, it's also good, and give a pretty long working distance. Check out the photo.
Excellent results!
Feels great in the hand. Nice tight zoom (though I preferred the zoom worked in the opposite direction (but that's just a personal preference). Love the results I get. Excellent, lower cost, alternative to a Leica with an extra bump in the zoom department!
It all depends on your needs/expectations
This is a well made, light easy to use lens. As a longtime Leica user (30+ years), I have become use to what I can produce from various Leica systems. Some Panasonic lenses I have, do match in image quality my various Leica lenses. In the case of this lens, it does not. That does not mean that it is a poor lens, it just does not match my expectations given the Leica lenses (in this case the Leica R 180mm and 280mm APO lenses) I have. Yes, it is very compact and light, but for me, the image quality is just not there.
Perfectly Wildlife Lens!
Thrilled with this lens. I've become an avid birdwatcher lately and this lens is perfect for that an many other wildlife photo opportunities. I'll be visiting a couple national parks soon and this lens will DEFINITELY be in my camera bag.
Compact
A great easy to have with you & easy to hand hold lens.
