question

How much time will one of these record of RAW 4K footage?
Asked by: David
You may wonder why recording times often are not listed for media. Or battery life time for that matter. The reason is there are so many variables that listing times for either becomes an exercise in futility. In regards to your question, recording times for media depends on the media size and video format basically of course. However, the actual size of the image in pixels, the frame rate and the bit rate of the codec also come into play. To figure this out, you can get AJA's very own DataClac App for your smartphone. As an example, that app says 4K-Full, 29.97 in ProRes will record 1 hours 7 minutes of video and sound on the AJA Pak512 512GB SSD.

question

How many hours will this hold?
Asked by: Anonymous
Depends on what format you are recording and your resolution. Go to AJA's website or the app store for your iphone or ipad and download the media calculator. It will allow you to enter your resolution - like 1920x1080, your framerate - like 60fps, and your format - like prores 422. Then select your disk size and it will give you predicted minutes. Remember, the KiPro will call the disk full at about 90%.
