RODE Wireless GO II Reviews
High quality audio capture in a tiny size - a winner
The kit delivers high quality audio reliably, even in a an electronically noisy environment. The lavalier mics performed admirably. The RODE app has a professional feel to it, delivering effortless firmware updates and selecting settings. A nice feature of the app is that it lets you select a camera profile for audio (I used the Nikon D780) to dB levels that work best when the receiver is connected to the mic connector of the camera. Another great feature is a setting for voice which minimizes sound levels of the audio spectrum outside the voice range. I found it convenient to record two separate tracks, the talent and bystanders, and mix the audio tracks in Adobe Premier Pro. All this at a very competitive price with the stellar B&H service and quick delivery.
Poor Instruction Manual
The performance of the Rode Go II was great. I couldn't have asked for more for the price. However, the compact nature--also a plus--forced procedural steps in order to operate the device. These steps are not included, nor are there images showing the difference when the devices are charging and when they are fully changed. I waited too many hours learning how to operate it.
