Rode Wireless GO II Reviews
Pad function inadequate, not for music
Tried to use these to send a line level signal padded down 60dB and, even with the internal pad engaged, was just barely below clipping range. Big LF rolloff, too, so, while good for voice, not good for music. Rode would do well to describe both the weak points and the strong points of these units. Not for music. Not for loud talkers. Not for transmitters behind the subjects. Not for sound reinforcement or live broadcast/stream. Good for recording voice if edited in post.
Serious design flaw
For live performance, worse than useless. 1. The actor/subject has to have the transmitter facing the receiver because the 2.4GHz signal does not pass well through a human body. At a range of 4m (not 200m) we got so many dropouts lost count after 5 minutes. Unusable. (2) Previous versions of software for Macs either not available or well-hidden. According to Rode website on Aug2, 2022, When using RDE Central on a Mac device, the Operating System Requirements are 10.13 or later. However, the software is for 10.14 and above only. For recorded interviews, probably works as described.
Living up to its expectation!
I ordered these microphones for my digital advertising business and the audio quality for recording on my camera is amazing. This was my first time purchasing on this website and I will continue to buy with them. Will recommend this website to all of my friends and family.
Trying to get to work
Still unable to get this to work properly
So far, the best budget wireless mic system even a year late
The 2 biggest things I've learned is that if one breaks and you have to buy the single transmitter set you can sync the new one to make a full set again. They aren't factory locked to the receiver they come with, and vice versa. And the audio being displayed on the receiver is before the db reduction. check your camera/recorder for the true audio levels i generally avoid Rode mics cause I prefer the sound of Deity, but these have all the features I could ask for. On board mic with external aux internal recording for backup safety channel -db padding decent range (but with internal recording it doesn't matter) Clip doubles as a male cold shoe Having two mics instead of one With these features i rarely have to be worried about my camera not having audio monitoring I usually use one for a wireless Boom with my Deity D3 Pro and the other is Lav or camera mounted for syncing/backup. Does not work with the H1N last time i tried My only complaint is that if a transceiver breaks you cant just buy a single replacement unit
Works great!
Works great! Highly recommend
Lovely solution wireless
Disregard these negative reviews. I use a pair of these for broadcast camera hops from a Sound Devices 883 moxer to various broadcast cameras and they have perfomeed flawlessly. Love their size, sound quality & range. The don't replace my high-end Lectrosonics wireless systems but I quite impressed with what I can achieve with them in many prroduction environments.
Transmitters Clip Audio
Very disappointed with this product. Transmitters have no true sensitivity settings. The gain settings are only for the receiver to the camera. There is a PAD option on the transmitters that's supposed to be for louder talent, but it's not enough. The audio still clips. The same LAVs on a Zoom recorder work great, so I know it's not the LAVs.
