If you have a BMPCC 6K Cinema Pro, you NEED this. Great addition to the camera. Provides both extra battery life and serves as a nice grip, too.

Blackmagic cameras are great, but battery life is an issue with them. This battery grip helps solve that problem. B&H was very helpful in the selection and purchase!

This battery grip adds so much shoot time to the camera and I'm very impressed with it. It can be hard to find the official Blackmagic batteries atm so I know many are going with a gold or v Mount solution but this works fantastic!!! My only reason for 4 stars is that the rubber grip already feels like it's peeling off.

Adds a good chunk of extra battery life without a ton of additional bulk. It attaches securely and easily, and retains the double 1/4 screw holes at the bottom

Do all 3 batteries drain simultaneously or will the battery grip keep the internal battery full charged until they die? I often have to film for multiple hours straight, so I'm hoping the internal battery will remain charged so I can hot swap the batteries in the grip as many times as needed without having to worry about the internal battery dying.
Asked by: Alex
Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera Battery Grip for 6K Pro has a smart system when utilizing all three batteries. The batteries inside the extended grip will drain first which will allow you to swab them while the camera stay on with the in body battery. The status of both batteries displays on the camera's display and adds up too 3 extra hours of shooting.

Will cages designed for the BMPCC 6K work with a 6K Pro that has this grip attached?

The dimensions of the 6K Pro + Pro Grip are larger than the 6K + Grip, so most cages designed for the 6K body probably won't work.
