The LA-KE1 Magic Ring Pentax K Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Adapter from Monster Adapter allows select LA-KE1-mount autofocus DSLR lenses to be used on Sony E-Mount camera bodies while retaining electronic communication and autofocus function. This adapter has a built-in AF switch, screw-drive focus motor, aperture motor, and communication and power supply contacts. It can support KAF, KAF2, KAF3, and KAF4 lenses from 1986 to the present and can automatically identify traditional screw-drive focus lenses, SDM/DC lenses with built-in motors, lenses with traditional lever-type aperture, and electromagnetic aperture lenses.

Monster Adapter LA-KE1 Overview

The LA-KE1 Magic Ring Pentax K Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Adapter from Monster Adapter allows select LA-KE1-mount autofocus DSLR lenses to be used on Sony E-Mount camera bodies while retaining electronic communication and autofocus function. This adapter has a built-in AF switch, screw-drive focus motor, aperture motor, and communication and power supply contacts. It can support KAF, KAF2, KAF3, and KAF4 lenses from 1986 to the present and can automatically identify traditional screw-drive focus lenses, SDM/DC lenses with built-in motors, lenses with traditional lever-type aperture, and electromagnetic aperture lenses.

Available firmware for the adapter updates can be installed through the camera body.

Check directly with the manufacturer for any available firmware updates via the MonsterAdapter Weibo, Facebook, or Twitter accounts. To update firmware, you'll need to connect the adapter to your camera body and then connect the camera to a computer via USB.

Yes, when adapting a lens to a camera with IBIS (in body image stabilization), the camera IBIS still works. This is true with all adapters, not just the Monster.

I don't see most Pentax zoom lenses in the list, will this work on lenses such as the Pentax HD PENTAX D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW Lens? I have that and a couple of other really great lenses that I would want to use if I purchase the Sony A1 and am hopeful these lenses are supported.

Pentax HD PENTAX D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW Lens Pentax has a built-in DC type autofocus motor, but no provision for screw drive autofocus. For that reason the Monster Adapter LA-KE1 Magic Ring Pentax K Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Adapter is not compatible.
