How well does this microphone pick up soft ...

How well does this microphone pick up soft distance sounds. Also how well does it reject sounds that are not in front of it?
Asked by: Jeffrey
The Sennheiser MKE 400 Shotgun Microphone will pickup audio from sources that are in front of the mic from up to approximately 3 to 4 feet away. As far as how well the mic will pick up soft sounds from a distance, it would really depend on the environment where the mic is used and the actual volume of the sounds and background sounds. The mic will do a good job of rejecting sound from the back and sides, as long as they are not considerably louder than the sounds that are directly in front of the mic.

Does the microphone have a power on/off switch, or will I have to remove the batteries to power-off the device?
Asked by: Eli Asher
Hi Eli - the MKE 400 has an illuminated on/off button that also indicates the status of the microphone; it will change from green to red when there’s three hours of battery life remaining. Additionally, the MKE 400 features an auto on/off feature that will turn the mic on (or off) with your device - if it’s unplugged from your device, it will also turn itself off.
