Sennheiser XS-Lav Reviews
Great smartphone mic
I love how easy to use this mic is. Have found it to be high quality, simple, and affordable.
This was a noisy microphone and not great.
You always get what you pay for, especially for audio, but this microphone was not great and almost unsuble. The real problem is that it's not comparable at all to the USB-C equivalent, which is great for the money. This microphone was very noise from the behinning and I figured it was because of my phone, but after trying it on 3 other different phones and different apps, it became obvious that this microphone is not good. If you can instead use the USB-C version of this microphone, get that one instead.
Plug n Play with Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
I bought this to use with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra for recording dialog. No setup needed. Just plug in and record. Good, clear audio quality with it attached to neck line of shirt.
Works Great
Perfect mic for my Zoom calls. Plug and play works well with my Apple computers. Cord is generously long, which is very helpful. Sound quality is indistinguishable from the Rhode Smartlav+
Great sounding mic, super versatile
I do many presentations from my home office and require high quality audio during these presentations. I tie this lav into an audio interface and monitor with studio monitors within 2' of the mic, even with high gain and the omni directional pickup I don't get any feedback from the monitors. This mic a full body frequency response. The length of cable is great for vlogging rigs. cons: when plugged into a mobile device, you can't monitor audio or use for video calls, only recording. The high frequency is a little bit lacking, loosing some clarity I am looking for in my recordings.
Solid & Sturdy
This mobile kits actually pretty nice. The manfrotto desk tripod is quality. The clamp is completely metal, no plastic parts, with strategically placed soft pads that contact the phone casing. It's spring loaded, so it keeps pressure on the phone to keep it in place when moving or bumped. I didn't need the microphone, but always good to have an extra one just in case. Overall quality is excellent! Good deal too!
Better than a microphone at this price should be.
The USB-C version of this microphone was really good and worked really well. It was not noisy at all for something at such a low price point. I'm personally really impressed with this microphone. In contrast, the TRRS version is junk and unusable while this version is really great.
