With M-mount Leica lens will this be a manual focus camera?
Asked by: Mike
Yes, adapting Leica M-mount lenses to the Panasonic Lumix S5 would limit them to manual focus only.

Is the Sony clear image zoom so magical that Panasonic and other manufacturers cannot come up with a comparable system?
Asked by: Denis
While it may be unfortunate that the Panasonic camera do not have Clear Image Zoom like the Sony. They do have a lot of strengths in other areas that make them very worth their while. The S5 does have a pretty good digital zoom.

what cable is required to record raw from S5 to ninja v?
Asked by: Vincent
To connect The Panasonic S5 to the Ninja V you need a Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable. The Pearstone HDD-1015 is a 1.5 foot cable that will work. You can find that linked here. https://bhpho.to/3iPDA2n

What about micro HDMI?? This is so fragile...
Asked by: mateo
The micro HDMI is an epic fail on Panasonic's part. I've had 2 of them fail on Panasonic GH3 and GH4 cameras, and another one fail on a Tascam recorder. The micro HDMI on the S5 is a total deal breaker for me.

Do I need anamorphic lenses to record in anamorphic mode or Can I record in anamorphic mode with (for example) de 24-105mm F4?
Asked by: Danny
We do not think there would be a benefit/advantage in working this way. Since if you use the Anamorphic mode it would be best to work with Anamorphic lenses. The other 4k modes in camera would produce a better image with the 24-105mm.

I'm a film student looking for my first camera. Do you think this would be a good starter? I'm between the Lumix s5 or a black magic cinema cam
Asked by: Shannen
The Panasonic Lumix S5 Mirrorless Camera (B&H# PADCS5), like any camera, has several strengths to be considered. The primary standout advantages of this camera are its low light performance due to its large sensor, support for anamorphic video recording, and mirrorless L-mount to which so many lenses with so many mounts may be adapted. While the mounts on Blackmagic cameras vary, many offer what is considered an especially convenient interface, easy integration with Davinci Resolve Studio software (which is included with their purchase in many cases), and their active heat management which allows them to be used for longer periods without overheating. Naturally, there's no one right choice for everyone, so please feel free to add your own criteria and discuss them and any other cameras of interest in a call (800-606-6969), chat, video chat (https://bhpho.to/3OhjwFU), or email ([email protected]) with us at your convenience.
