FUJIFILM 18mm f/1.4 XF Reviews
I watched many reviews before purchasing and they all said "sharp lens" so I bought it. I'm very happy with the lens and its performance. AF is very fast on the XH2. Quick processing by BH
Blown away by how good this is
Picked up the 18mm f1.4 for my Fuji X-T5 and it is a killer combo. The optics of this lens are spectacular and the sharpness is mind blowing. AF is super fast and silent. Cannot think of any downsides at all.
Very decent prime lens
Very sharp with acceptable size. The image quality never will not let you down
Great lens for indoor pictures, sharp, looks great on my XT-3!!!
top quality as always
Great lens in a compact form factor - can't complain!
This lens, in combination with my X-T5 yields the sharpest photos I've seen to date. That includes images from full frame cameras I've owned. Pictures are beautifully rendered, clear and sharp. I couldn't be happier with this lens/camera combo. It's understandable that Fujifilm refers to this lens as one of the best they've ever designed. The square hood offered as an accessory is solid metal. Highly recommended.
Awesome lens and focal length!
I have had for years the XF16mm 1.4. Love it but at times it does distort. I have always love the 28mm FOV from my film (my #1 at the time) days and thought this would a great option for the XH2. This lens has amazing IQ and I LOVE the focal length! It really is becoming my go to walk around lens. The fats aperture is great for nice subject separation and it can focus very close too. Ergonomics are great (as is for most FXF lenses) with top notch build quality. It is not large nor heavy either. The FOV is different than the 16mm 1.4 and for most things, with people in particular, I prefer it. Where do I fit it in? I attended a friends wedding and took two primes, this XF18mm 1.4 and the XF50 1.0, that was it! covered pretty much all of my needs, including low light (no strobe was used so I did not interfere with the pro photographer). Overall a great addition to the XF lineup. And... Did I say the image quality is stunning! And that's the whole point.
Apologies. The lens hood that comes with the 18 1.4 is indeed plastic. I was referring to the optional square hood which is metal.
