Thanks to its lightweight 8.8 oz construction and foldable design, the X8 Mini can fit easily into a backpack for on-the-spot filming for up to 30 minutes at a time. Even with its small size, it can handle environmental challenges with Level 5 resistance of winds from 20 to 24 mph. When it comes time to recharge the included standard battery, you don't have to worry about proprietary ports or bulky charging hubs. It features a USB Type-C interface and supports 9V/3A rapid charging with a USB Type-C power adapter (not included).

Controlling the drone and viewing a stable live video stream from the X8 Mini is conveniently done via your smartphone and the included remote, which utilizes a TDMA image transmission system. The remote delivers comfortable gamepad-style control from up to five miles away, or via 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi, you can use your smartphone by itself from up to 328' away. A host of imaging modes, tracking, and safety features round out the X8 Mini's capabilities, making it a convenient and enjoyable piloting experience for beginners and professionals.

Tracking and Flight Plans

While you can fly the X8 Mini manually, automated flight modes can make it easier to achieve professional results. AI smart tracking modes can lock onto and follow a subject automatically, and the flight plan function lets you plot out specific and complex tracking shots.

Shooting Modes

Enhancing the 4K video abilities of the X8 Mini are a series of shooting options that provide you with more creative options for video capture. The time-lapse function takes advantage of the X8 Mini's stability and wind resistance for precise time-lapse videos. You can shoot aerial footage and live stream it on popular social media platforms. Create immersive panoramic images and crisp, detailed night shots. Night shooting uses the Hisilicon AI algorithm to reduce noise while capturing more detail.

Fimi Mobile App

Whether you use your phone alone or connect to the remote via the included OTG cable, the intuitive UI lets you pilot the X8 Mini and view vital telemetry, and it grants touch control over select features while in flight.

Solid drone, performs like its big brother

There's been a number of reviews complaining about the tilted horizon line on this drone. I have not had that problem. When you get the drone ensure that you have updated all of the firmware; there's a number of them; flight control, camera, RC etc. The only thing I've noticed is that this drone does not like to take-off near any structure, (small shed/barn, or off a picnic table, etc.) which you shouldn't do anyway. I typically get a compass calibration error or a magnetic interference error unless I get about 20 feet away from any object. Even if you get either of those errors in the middle of a field, you can recalibrate and tune it. Other than that, it's a solid drone. I own the big brother of this drone, the FIMI X8 2020 and I am impressed with it every time I fly it; it is what made me buy this one. The Mini seems to have all of the same features in a smaller package. If you're looking for the zoom feature, put it in SAR mode (Search and Rescue) and you get 3x zoom. I don't really have any negatives to report about this drone other than I wish it had shipped under 250mg. A Pro battery should be widely available soon which gets you under 250mg, the weight to fly without registration. The one big plus about this drone is you don't deal with all of the no-flight zone or restricted bow-tie coverage the DJI makes you deal with. Just fly safe and stay within regulation and you shouldn't have any problems. Happy flying!

Works ok not what is described by the manufacturer. In less than two weeks malfunctions 4k will not record even with the most expensive micro sd card available. No crashes, no damage, not what I expected but satisfied for what I paid.

This is a pretty good drone. It is a quick flyer with a lot of nice features. I have had some difficulty with the compass calibration, but found a work around. I have loaded all the available firmware updates, but I'm hoping for further adjustments that make the calibration better. All in all I'm pleased with my purchase.

Very nice line of sight drone, picture quality is stunning, I still have not figured out the best night settings or the zoom. Fimi needs to provide better technical instructions. I searched everywhere and nothing exists.

The Fimi X8 Mini is a fun drone to fly. The 4K images are beautiful, and the drone has many features. For a very small drone, the Fimi Mini can manage flying in gusty conditions pretty well. What I don't like about the Fimi is the stability when you keep the drone under 10-15 feet...when it's not windy. Even if you aren't moving the joystick, the Fimi Mini often moves side to side, as opposed to hovering in place. The other issue is inconsistent connectivity. Many flights have been flawless. Others will have connection issues, even if you are less than 500 meters from take off. Fortunately, the Return To Home feature works perfectly, in the event connection is lost more than a few seconds. One feature this drone lacks, is obstacle avoidance...something my Autel Evo has. This feature is not a deal breaker for me, but it can give a less experienced flyer something to think about, before purchasing this drone. Overall, I'm satisfied with the Fimi Mini, although there are some issues that prevent it from being perfect.

As good as the more expensive ones if not better. Great flight time and stability. The controller is also amazing and even my iphone 8 plus in its gigantic case fits perfectly well. I just wish I could buy it with an extra battery.

FYI You have listed an incorrect specification for Fimi X8 Mini Drone. You have: * Up to 35.8 Mph Flight Speed -35.79 is the maximum air speed in standard flight mode. This is also expressed as 16 Meters/Sec. In "Sport Mode", the specification is: * Up to 40.3 Mph Flight Speed or 18 Meters/Sec. None of which is earth shattering differences, but in the name of accuracy, fairness and helping out the underdog in this competition. I'll send a note to support with this info as well.
