PreSonus AMPIRE Overview

Utilizing State Space Modeling technology, impulse responses, and mic modeling, the PreSonus Ampire amp and pedalboard plug-in is designed to deliver versatile and realistic tones for guitarists, bassists, and producers who use Studio One or any other Mac/Windows DAW that supports AAX, Audio Units, or VST3 plug-in formats. From emulations of tube combos and high-gain heads to an array of 10" and 12" cabs, Ampire offers plenty of variety to satisfy musicians across a range of genres.

Ampire is packed with five amplifiers, 16 speaker cabinets, and a pedalboard with 13 stompbox effects. The pedalboard can also used as a separate plug-in to allow expressive processing of non-guitar sources such as vocals and drums. In addition to the IR-based cabs provided, you can load your own impulse responses to create custom sounds. For precise tonal control, there is a microphone edit page with adjustments for mic blend, polarity, and balance.

Ampire State Building
What makes Ampire so great? It leverages State Space Modeling technology to create the amplifier and stompbox models. This same technology also powers StudioLive Fat Channel plug-in emulations of venerated compressor and EQ designs while ensuring that the nuanced and variable sonic character of analog survives its transition to the digital realm.
Five Amps
These five world-class amplifier models are the heart of Ampire. Each is meticulously State Space Modeled from a bonafide classic, with all their analog-defining nonlinearities and dynamic responsiveness—critical for capturing the tone and character of vacuum tube and semiconductor-based circuitry.
Impulse Responses
Amps, of course, aren't the be-all and end-alls of guitar tone, as speaker cabinets do a great deal to color the sound of a guitar rig; speaker complement, wood, and cabinet size are all determining factors in the final tone. Furthermore, when recording a speaker cab, strategic microphone placement also imparts a dramatic sonic consequence. When it comes to emulation, speaker cabinets require a different solution than the State Space Modeling tech PreSonus used with the amplifiers.

As the circuitry of cabinets is comparatively simple, PreSonus relied heavily on impulse responses (acoustic measurements of real-world cabinet behavior) and microphone modeling to emulate the recording performance of the 16 classic speaker cabinets found in Ampire. You also get a microphone edit page that provides control over microphone blend, plus polarity and balance. There's even a convenient tuner.

If you're into DIY cabinetry, you can even create impulse responses of your own real-world cabinets and spaces and save them for use in Ampire. Mix and match amps, mics, and cabs to your heart's content with Presonus' best simulations yet.
Pedalboard Plug-In
It seems that no guitar rig is complete without a mess of stompboxes, and Ampire doesn't hold back in this regard. The same nerdy State Space Modeling technology that made PreSonus amp modeling possible also drives five of the 13 stompboxes included in the Ampire Pedalboard. For non-guitarists looking to use stompboxes to warp their vocals, drum machines, keyboards, kazoos, or any other audio source, the Pedalboard is also available as a standalone plug-in.
Optional Add-On Pack
The optional Ampire High Density Pack adds three more heavy-duty, iconic amps and six additional stompboxes; all State Space Modeled for maximum realism. You also get three more road-ready cabinet emulations, and you can mix and match all of the above to dial in your signature sound.

Note that some of these amps and effects were selected with extended-range instruments in mind, so if you're into chugging a 7- or 8-string guitar or drop-tuned 6-strings, the High Density Pack can handle it.
