Combining a wide-angle perspective with a fast maximum aperture, this 24mm f/1.8 AF Compact Autofocus Lens from Rokinon is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 36mm equivalent focal length when used on an APS-C camera body. Two extra-low dispersion elements, three high refractive index elements, and two aspherical elements are incorporated into the lens construction to help to control aberrations and distortions for increased clarity and sharpness. Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to all lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color fidelity. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture excels in difficult lighting conditions and enables greater control over depth of field and focus placement. The Linear STM autofocus motor provides fast, quiet focus, and the lens barrel incorporates a custom function switch and a focus hold button for optimal focus control. The nine-blade diaphragm to produce a quality of bokeh.

Rokinon 24mm f/1.8 AF Reviews
Stars in corners not as good as hoped for.
I got this lens with the main intended use to be for astrophotography. What I like; tiny size and lightweight is perfect for using on the tracker especially when doing tracked panoramas. The infinity focus function worked very well. I went through several reviews and including the tests by Dustin Abbott showing good corner performance for stars even wide open and showing an improvement to vignette by stopping down to f/2. So far I have only used it at one outing and noticed the corner coma at f/2 was clearly evident, I didn't have opportunity to try other settings yet but f/2 was disappointing. I have both the Tamron 17-28 e-mount and the Tamron 28-75 G2 and both perform significantly better in the corners at f/2.8 in regards to coma, they vignette at 2.8 but that is easier to deal with than coma. I have yet to decide the fate of this lens if it stays or if Ill exchange it. Ill give it another go at 2.8 to see if it is worth it just to have a small lightweight easy to focus option.
Great Little Lens
Lightweight and packs a punch! I've been happy with my purchase thus far. Watched plenty of video reviews as well as read plenty of them and it truly holds up to high end lenses as far as picture quality is concerned. Although the body is not all metal build it still has a nice premium feel. I haven't had a chance to try it out for astrophotography yet which is one reason I bought this lens but can't wait till I do. One downside I noticed right away though is the amount of purple fringing, wow! At wide open it's really noticeable but once stopped down to f2 it really starts to clear up. 24mm has been a new experience for me and I quite enjoy the challenge of shooting at this angle of view. Hope this helps anyone looking for a great lens at a great price.
Versatile Lens for Travel, Nightscenes, and Astro
The Rokinon 24mm f/1.8 is a compact, lightweight lens that is easy to carry in a pocket. I am combining it with my Samyang (=Rokinon) 75mm f/1.8 when hiking or traveling. For its size and weight it has great optical performance, even at full aperture. Combined with the IBIS of my Sony A7III it works hand-held well into the twilight. At night I have obtained uniformly-sharp astro images. The highly-touted preset for infinity focus is indeed quite useful in the dark. Simply press the round button on the lens when turning the camera on and hold it until the adjacent LED turns from red to green. That avoids tedious manual focusing by wire. For fine-tuning the preset I found it useful to focus not at the center of the image, but half-way out to the edges.
Best tiny lens yet.
This lens is great. Sharp. Fast, silent, and accurate AF. Light and small for the spec. Great features like Mode switch, focus hold button, and infinity on demand with confirmation light. Large enough aperture for subject isolation. Great colors. All at a reasonable price.
How??!?
This lens is sooooo light and I absolutely love the IQ and autofocus speed and accuracy. How they packed this all into such a light lens is incredible. Also, I wish the custom button on this lens also came on the rest of the rokinon tiny series... it's great too!
Very happy with my purchase.
Very happy with my purchase. Light, fast and sharp... Perfect for traveling and backpacking.
Much sharper than expected, innovative
Lens is amazingly sharp. About the same as Loxia 25mm in center of frame and sharper out at the edges. Doesn't have quite as good color contrast as the Loxia, but still very good. Combine the price, speed and image quality and it is a real bargain. The auto infinity focus is an innovative concept and appears to work pretty well.
