Combining a wide-angle perspective with a fast maximum aperture, this 24mm f/1.8 AF Compact Autofocus Lens from Samyang is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 36mm equivalent focal length when used on an APS-C camera body. Two extra-low dispersion elements, three high refractive index elements, and two aspherical elements are incorporated into the lens construction to help to control aberrations and distortions for increased clarity and sharpness. Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to all lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color fidelity. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture excels in difficult lighting conditions and enables greater control over depth of field and focus placement. The Linear STM autofocus motor provides fast, quiet focus, and the lens barrel incorporates a custom function switch and a focus hold button for optimal focus control. The nine-blade diaphragm to produce a quality of bokeh.

Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 Reviews
Great Astro lens.
Bought this for an astrophotography trip to Utah and Arizona. Really liked the fact that it will automatically focus to infinity if you hold the focus hold button while turning the camera on. Also had the Sony 12 - 24mm F2.8 on the trip and I'd say the Samyang compares remarkably well.
Great lens!
I bought this lens to start taking pictures of the milky-way and it didn't disappoint! The auto infinity focus button makes it so easy to focus on the night sky!
Samyang 24mm 1.8
Have been quite impressed by this little lens by the sharpness and focus in lowlight shots.
Worth every penny!
I'm new to astrophotography. I normally do surfing photography and since I'm close to the Space Coast in Florida, I wanted something good to start in astrophotography while saving some money. After a few reviews decided to get it here at B&H which had the best price. I have taken some perfect shot of the stars in night with moonlight which isn't the best to do this. Don't hesitate. If is budget and quality, this lens gets you more for less.
One of my Favorite Lens
Excellent image quality. Well design and well built. This is not only an Astro Lens. It is also a great Landscape photography lens.
love the lens
I like this lens for astro photography. the auto infinity focus is the best. It has always nailed it
Night photography BEAST!!!
In my 30 years of night photography experience, I have never been more pleased with a lens for night shooting! Super sharp, light, f1.8, infinite focus button and seems more sharp than the Sony 24mm, which cost 3 times more than this prime. Oh yeah and the AF is faster than the Sony...sorry Sony I still love ya! -Jackpine Savage
Be aware of production tolerances.
I have read nothing but good reviews about this lens and I was especially intrigued by the astrophotography function. My initial impression was very positive with regards to Fit Form and Function and the quality feel. However, the copy of lens I received was soft, even in the center at f/1.8 which is claimed to be very sharp. As a matter of fact some reviews claim the lens is very sharp across the frame at f/1.8, but certainly not the copy I obtained. To make things worst, the lens is so de-centered that I think it may even be defective. One thing I have learned: It appears that websites that perform reviews get a selected, very good copy to the reviewer, but we might end up with a bad copy. Yes, the lens is reasonably priced, and if it were as promised, you would save a lot of money. But it isn't the case therefore, I trust the manufacturing quality rigor of Zeiss and pay more. I have uploaded images depicting how bad off-center this lens is. What a shame, I had to return it. I
