More useful than I thought
I'm not a professional videographer by any stretch of the definition, but the video I do shoot is typically 4k with 10-bit color, which the free version of Resolve doesn't open. I also archive a lot of VHS tapes, and the restoration features are visible but not usable in the free version of Resolve. A videographer I work with told me that this was a great deal so I jumped on it, and given that the standalone Speed Editor is nearly $400 on Blackmagic's site, I'm glad I did. I haven't used all of the features of the Speed Editor yet, but from the limited set of features I have used, I wonder how I ever got by using just a keyboard and mouse. This thing's dead useful! I can't go back to using kdenlive or shotcut after using Resolve Studio with the Speed Editor.
Not going back to Adobe, Final Cut, Vegas or Magix
I've used them all and am not going back. When it comes to intuitive post production, DaVinci Resolve checks all the boxes. And, their current one license, lifetime updates, no subscription model is perfect for our small business. This package includes the software key and the Speed Editor. The Speed Editor greatly enhances the rough cut process and fine-tuning within the edit. I started with DaVinci's free version. As soon as I realized how easy this software was to use relative to the other, I decided to jump to paid. The online community for this software is friendly and extensive. So if you have questions, an online search will quickly reveal the answer. Having tried many other NLEs over the years (and cutting my teeth on film, then linear tape), I'm glad I took the jump to DaVinci.
Speedy it is!
After ten years of shooing and editing with iPhone/iPad I decided to up my game with DaVinci Resolve Studio and the Speed Editor, a no brainer value combination. Out of the box the battery was totally flat - 0%- which based on a search about that is the norm but not great for lithium batteries. But it configured automatically on my Mac M2 MiniPro with the supplied USB-C cable and charged in few hours. The Resolve Studio application installed seamlessly over the free copy which was installed preserving the projects I had created with it.
Pleasantly surprised
I'm very pleased with my purchase and finally moving over to davinci resolve and having the speed editor pad it's very useful . And I may add ordering from b&h is amazing site is easy to use , fast ordering process , and the shipment is very quick . Very pleased every time I order from b&h .
As Described
everything was brand new. The software is amazing.
Worth it even if you only use it once.
I bought this simply because I needed a full version of Resolve and the flicker removal for one of my quick-and-dirty tourist-wedding videos that happened to get obliterated by a LED strip. I figured what the heck, might as well pay the extra hundred bucks and get the control widget. I spent a couple of hours familiarizing myself with it with some YouTube videos, and it seemed theoretically useful, even if I wasn't sure how I'd ever fit it into my professional workflow that usually has videos consisting of between five to ten clips and about 15 minutes of total footage. HOWEVER. I got the call to shoot a 10 hour ceremony/party two days ago and filled up a 1TB cfe-b and I CANNOT IMAGINE having to do it the old way. Even if I never use it again, using it for that one job for cutting / culling the hour and a half of footage over 500 files made it worth it. If you're on the fence and looking to get a full version of Resolve and wondering whether this thing is any way useful, it's the biggest no-brainer in up-sell-widget history. Seriously. Just do it.
Very useful
Useful to work in cut & edit tab. Speed up editing. By the way, there is bluetooth connection, so you can work far away from table. Da Vinci Studio brings more benefits.
A complete video editing app.
I have been using Final Cut Pro for a very long time to edit my videos but once I find out about DaVinci Resolve Studio, it call my attention and now that I have tried it I'm really impressed on how this application is a whole complete video editing app. And this offer of the DaVinci Resolve Studio and the Speed Editor is a very good deal for just $395, this speed editor it actually does speed up the way you edit your videos and projects. I definitely recommend it.
