How does this work with a "mid 2014 Macbook Pro 15" Retina"? It has Thunderbolt 2 ports, not sure about the USB port. Speeds?

Hi Mark - We currently recommend that you connection this drive to your Mac Book using a USB-C to USB-A cable. Ideally we would like to use a thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 connection, however this setup with you Mac doesn't deliver the power needed for the drive to function.

We just purchased 2 of the original version of the 2TB SSD - and I was considering buying a 3rd tonight when I saw that it had been discontinued - and apparently replaced by this version 2 - other than cosmetics, what dirrerences are there between the two versions. I have already loaded about one TB into the first unit and it appears to be functioning very well indeed?
