SmallRig 3270 Overview

Protect your investment and mount accessories onto your Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro with this dedicated Full Cage from SmallRig. This protective frame features one shoe mount, a NATO rail, multiple 1/4"-20 threads, and 3/8"-16 ARRI-style accessory mounts built into the cage's top, sides, and bottom.

The modular cage can be fitted to the camera as a full cage, or it can be disconnected in the middle to become a half cage. A slot on the bottom is designed to fit an optional Samsung T5 SSD to conveniently connect your recording media. Access to the camera's controls, compartments, and connectors is maintained when the cage is fitted to the camera. The camera mounts using one 1/4"-20 screw on the bottom and two on the top, and silicone pads on the base ensure that your camera doesn't twist or scratch.

All parts fit well, the camera is securely fixed in the cage from below and above. Now the camera body is more protected from external influences, since the plastic is very delicate and scratches very quickly.

There's 2mm - 3mm give at top of cage after about a month of use. Does not inspire confidence. There are tiny little screws holding two parts of cage together, I'm worried now. Plus, for some nonsense reason, there is no NATO rail on top of cage! Will upgrade to better designed model asap.

This cafe has integrated into it a SSD hard drive space a perfect fir the the Samsung T5 SSD. And if you shoot interviews or hour plus content then the Samsung T5 is a must and so is this cage. Nothing flops around and the cables are better hidden even for gimbal use

This SmallRig Cage makes the Blackmagic Camera even more steady and easy to handle. It leaves perfectly fit spaces for cables etc and it has also a slot for and SDD that I used and I guess you're going to use too.

Does the 1/4"-20 threads on the side are 0.7" apart? In order to use the SmallRig universal wood side handle?

Yes, the 1/4"-20 threads on the side are 0.7" apart and you will be able to mount the Smallrig Universal Wooden Side Handle to the cage.

The T7 should fit. But is is designed for the Samsung T5 drive which is approved for use with the Pocket camera. The T7 is not qualified and has errors when recording and not an approved SSD drive for the Black Magic Pocket Cameras.

No, you will have to assemble two pieces. It comes in two pieces. It comes with the screws and allen wrench to put it together.

What rail systems are compatible with this cage? ...

What rail systems are compatible with this cage? It's not compatible with the arca type basplate that i had for my 4k.

This cage has standardized holes on the bottom which means you can adapt it to work with most baseplates. For instance, if your current baseplate requires an Arca Swiss quick release plate then you simply need to purchase a Arca Swiss compatible quick release plate to mount to the bottom of the cage. If you prefer Manfrotto then Manfrotto plate etc. Most people use this with 15mm LWS rail systems because they are smaller, more affordable, and more common but it is compatible with 19mm and Studio rod systems as well.

No, the Smallrig Full Cage for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro has a slot that will only fit the Samsung T5. For holding a Samsung T7 Shielded, we would suggest the SmallRig Universal Holder for External SSD BH #SMBSH2343.

Most Top handles that connect via cold shoe, 1/4 20 or 3/8 16 threaded holes will work.
