The dynamic Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VXD for full-frame-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras is a compact and versatile super-telephoto zoom lens well suited to capture a wide array of subjects ranging from landscapes and birds to sports and wildlife photography. The optical construction features 25 elements in 16 groups and utilizes special lens elements and hybrid aspherical lens elements to control chromatic aberrations. Each element features a BBAR-G2 coating to reduce flare and ghosting for high contrast and color accuracy. The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism delivers extreme high-speed and high-precision movement and ensures exceptionally responsive performance and is compatible with Sony Hybrid AF and Eye AF features in enabled cameras. The minimum object distance of 23.6" at 150mm end of the zoom range provides dynamic close-up imaging and add to the lens' remarkable overall usability.

The rear element on the 150-500mm does not move. If you are feeling any movement, it is most likely the VC element.

According to Tamron's original press release, due to the current global health crisis, the release date or product supply schedule for the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VXD Lens for Sony E could change. We have not received an updated shipping date for the 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VXD Lens, but do note that all pre-orders must be shipped before the lens will be listed in our inventory as "In Stock" for shipping or in-store pickup. As such, the fastest way to obtain the lens before it is listed as "In Stock" would be to place a pre-order for the lens, and once the lens starts arriving from the manufacturer, all pre-orders will be shipped in the order in which they were received.

Will I be able to put my FE 1.4x on the back of this Tamron 150-500?
Nope - just look at the images of the female connector and you will see the opening is non-cylindrical, thus preventing the male portion of the tele 1.4x from fitting inside. Laowa lenses are the only ones I have found that work with the Sony 1.4x converter.
