7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 II Reviews

sort of wish I didn't

I bought this lens as a compact option for traveling this summer. I purchased it from the store in New York. I've got to say I'm not very satisfied with this lens. I was hoping that it would make a usable image wide open, but I really haven't had much luck getting any sharpness at its wide aperture. Shooting on my X-T4, I wish I had opted for a Fujifilm prime. Maybe I got a bad example? I do appreciate the compact size, and the nostalgia of manual focus.

Not for BMPCC4k

This does not work with the Black Magic Pocket 4K. The focus does not throw past about 30 feet.

Pretty good for the money

Placed on a Fujifilm X-S10 it did pretty well in low light and walk around photography. IQ is pretty good and the large aperture gives good subject separation. Some barrel distortion and the image gets soft with the lens wide open but for people and some subjects this isn't really a big deal.

getting used to it

the lens seems to be a good addition, i have to use it a little more often to get used to it. i would recommend this lens as an addition to your arsenal. i am also a starting photographer and having this lens has made me aware of differentiating focusing and light use.

Nice choice!

I bought it to use in my XPro2, the size and weight are perfect for it, just a little smaller than the Fujinon 23mm f2 All metallic, good finishes. The diaphragm ring has clicks, they are smooth but firm, the focus ring has a comfortable round The few photos I shot show good quality, at large apertures you can see some loss of sharpness in the corners, but it is not exaggerated. Considering its price, it is an excellent alternative in this type of lens

A lot of fun

I enjoy shooting with this lens on my Fuji xPro 3. It's taken some time to learn how best to manually focus, but it's slowed my photography and I've had fun with it. Optically it's quite sharp in the middle, when you nail focus, especially when stopped down. Basically it shoots and feels like an adapted vintage lens, but it's compact like those lens originally were, not with the large adapters needed to make them work. I would buy again.

It works great.

Asked by: Rick
The Photoelectric in 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Mark II Lens for FUJIFILM X does not have any special meaning. All the lenses we have carry this name. This is simply part of their brand name.
