So close! (but still worth a buy)

First off I've got to say this is VERY good for the $1,000 price tag. My only reasons for giving it 4 stars is a bit minor but that said it's got a little room for improvements. Cons 1 - Directional beam: If your buying a light in this price range I'm guessing you're going to modify the light and the unfortunate thing about it being mostly directional is that you lose output as you add the soft box and more. 2 - Barn Door Shadows: Sadly the barn doors get some very strange looking stepped shadows that are not very pleasing if you show on camera. Yes, it helps control the light however it's not good if its shows in the shot 3 - Cable: This is not all bad news however the cable that runs from the light to the brick will hang halfway down the light stand and thus puts a lot of strain on the connection. I just wish they had made that connection a bit longer 01% Diming: At 01% this light is still quite strong. If you're using it as a back light for a backdrop it can still be a little overpowering Pros! 1 - Great output: For the price bracket you will be hard pressed to find a panel LED that can put out this much. I'm happy with its price to performance. 2 - The APP: The app is actually quite easy to use and the connection between multi Godox lights is really awesome. 3 - Weight: Compared to a Skypanel this is a feather (Not really, it's still takes 2 hands). It's nice that I didn't have to go out and buy new combo stands just to mount this light up. If you need a little more PRO feature set I'd save for the Aperture Nova 300 but have almost half the price this can get you a better entry level RGB LED panel light

Impressive for the price

For the cost of this light it's hard to beat it. Get the soft box for it and you have a serious flexible light source for less than the Aputure Nova P300c. This is my first Godox light after only buying Aputure I pulled the trigger on Godox and I don't think I'll go back. For far less, the lights are just as good.

Is there any way to use the normal 14volt V-mount batterys on this? Or an accesorie that breaks out to two batterys to get up the right voltage?

There is one way and that is to buy ''Nanlite 14.8V / 26V V-Mount Battery Adapter''. It's available here at BHP.

Is this item made of metal or plastic?

The interface and the gray handles on the back of the Godox LD150R LED Panel, as well as the hinges on the barn door is manufactured from ABS plastic. The light fixture itself (and its heat sink) as well as the barn door leaves and the yoke are manufactured from metal.

What is the power output in LUX or any other ...

What is the power output in LUX or any other measure by distance?
Asked by: Raymond
I haven't used this light, but the answer given by Robert from the B&H staff seems very unlikely. This is a 150 watt fixture. The Aputure Nova P300C is listed as having a 360 watt maximum output, but nowhere in their photometrics do they claim the light ever reaches more than 8,550 lux at 1 meter (that's the number they claim for when the light is set to 6500K, by the way). This cheaper light by Godox that requires half as much power surely can't have more than twice the output. Either Godox is making very dubious claims, or there was simply an error made when the number was put in here.
