Does the transmitter provide phantom power for mics like MKH 8050?
Asked by: Mark
No. The Sennheiser EW-D SK Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter (R4-9: 552 to 607 MHz) will only supply a small amount of power for lavalier and headset microphones. It cannot supply 48V phantom power for larger condenser micrphones.

I want to mic a maximum of 12 performers with EW D. Do I need a variety of frequency bands? (4 each to cover 470 -600Mhz?)
Asked by: Peter
You will be able to have a maximum of 90 transmitters per band, so if there is not significant interference in your area it should be alright to keep the same band for all systems.

I see the comment that the digital system is "not backwards compatible" with analog systems. Can you clarify this? Obviously, I wouldn't expect a digital transmitter to work with an analog receiver, but is there any reason a digital system can't be added into a venue that is already using analog gear?
Asked by: Bob
This system's components are not interchangeable or interoperable with other Sennheiser analog wireless components. But certainly the Sennheiser EW-D SK BASE SET Digital Wireless Microphone System with Bodypack, No Mic (Q1-6: 470 to 526 MHz) BH #SESKBASEQ16 can interface with other analog products like mixers, amplifiers, microphones etc.
