  • 32.4 GHz Digital Wireless System with Simultaneous Back-Up Recording

Designed to suit a wide range of content creators from solo YouTubers to small video production teams, the Deity Connect Timecode Kit is a camera-mountable wireless system featuring timecode support and simultaneous recording and transmission capabilities. The versatile system consists of two compact, metal transceiver units that are able to record audio to microSD cards—providing back-up recordings and eliminating the problem of lost takes due to wireless interference.

The small, lightweight BP-TRX units easily attach to talent via belt clips and feature locking 3.5mm input connectors to accommodate the supplied omnidirectional lavalier microphones; foam windscreens and lapel clips are also included. Input gain is adjustable from -12 to +36 dB, while the Guard Rail analog limiter helps keep the signal from clipping and distorting if the source gets too loud—letting you place the recorder in the talent's pocket without worrying about sudden level changes. Each unit can function as a portable audio recorder with files recorded at a 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution to a microSD card (available separately) with a maximum capacity up to 128GB.

When used as a digital wireless system, the unit acting as the transmitter can record a back-up audio file at the same time, giving you a clean option if interference occurs during the wireless transmission. The Deity Connect operates in the 2.4 GHz spectrum and provides a maximum range of 328'. The receiving unit can be camera-mounted via a 1/4"-20 thread beneath the removable belt clip. To record, connect the locking 3.5mm output to your camera's 3.5mm input using the included coiled cable.

The transceiver design allows for a wide variety of uses, including IEM and camera-hopping applications, as the unit can pair with up to four BP-TRX receivers at once. What's more, it enables remote control over input levels, low-cut filter settings, high-frequency boost options, and RF output adjustments—all from the receiver. You can even remotely engange the record function on the transmiter without stopping a take, ensuring the action is uninterrupted.

The onboard SMPTE timecode generator also outputs to the 3.5mm connector, allowing you to use it as a master clock and jam-sync the other BP-TRX unit or any other devices that support timecode. The unit jam-syncs to incoming code via the same locking 3.5mm input used for the microphone. A timecode sync and audio cable is included that lets you record both signals to an external device.

Power is supplied by a built-in rechargeable battery, allowing the BP-TRX to operate for up to 12 hours when used in transmitter or receiver modes, up to 21 hours in record mode, and up to 25 hours as a timecode-only box. The USB Type-C charging port also functions as a stereo audio interface for Mac and Windows computers. Charging cables and removeable antennas are included.

Deity Microphones DDCTIMEKITUS Reviews

Very versatile recorders

We purchased 4 units total to be used as all-day recorders. The main features we were after were timecode, 24-bit or higher, locking 3.5 connection and good overall battery life. So far we have used these for a business conference, a few local commercials and also a wedding so I can say with confidence that these have held up to the hopes we had for them. Now, I see some negative reviews regarding the wireless features and I have to admit we don't really ever plan to use that feature. It's really cool that it's available to us if the need ever comes up, but my review is based on the units as recorders only. Hope this helps someone!

Versatile and Amazing

First of all, do I recommend these units. Yes! Here are the PROS: Since I am used to using other Deity products, the BP-TRX was fairly easy to use. Plus, the online tutorials from Deity were short and easy to follow. Everything works as expected. The audio quality is quite good. The ability to carry only two of these units to record a single individual is very convenient (The use of the DUO-RX is not necessary). However, both units work seamlessly with my previously purchased Deity DUO-RX. Firmware updates are a breeze, and as mentioned before, the Deity Tutorials on YouTube showing how to update the firmware, makes everything easy. Since Deity made a deal with Zaxcom, the ability to record and stream simultaneously is fantastic! The units are very durable and strong. At this point, I have not tried syncing timecode, however, I do not expect any problems. Again, the online tutorial for syncing timecode makes things easy. Here are the CONS: The cons are very, very minor. First, the buttons don't seem to have as much of a clicky tactile feel as the previous Deity products (BP-TX and BP-THX). However, they still get the job done. Plus, I have not removed the protective film over the screen and buttons. That might account for the feel of the buttons, and make a difference if I were to remove the film. Another con may not be Deity's fault, but instead, the fault of the makers of certain microSD cards. I purchased two SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC 128GB microSD cards to use with the two units. They fit in fine with a click and they formatted quickly with no problems. However, when trying to retrieve the microSD cards from the units, they would not readily pop out. My first thought was that the springs in the BP-TRX's were not strong enough to pop the microSD cards out. I had to use tweezers on one card to get it out. Nevertheless, I also tried using another microSD card I had lying around the house, and it went in and out with no issues. Therefore, I believe that SanDisk made the two microSD cards a little too thick to work correctly in these devices. I switched the two thick microSD cards from one unit to the other. They worked better, even though I had to use my fingernail to pull them out. I also experienced a small bit of 2.4ghz interference in my small living room with WIFI being broadcast just a few feet away, but when I shielded it with something such as a book or my body, the interference when away. I believe it will be easy to avoid RF interference if one is careful. Bottomline: These units have mostly PROS, and the biggest CON can be avoided by choosing the right microSD cards. These units are fantastic for most recording circumstances. I am very happy with these and plan to use them for a long time.

Awesome Mics

I actually got them sooner than I though as I think they are actually still up for pre-order. Besides that the work phenomenally. Even with the included microphones audio quality is great for general use. The real awesome thing is all the dope secondary and pro features it has for different situations. 1. It has a time code generator internally that can be jam synced or be used as the master for other devices. In the box it also comes with a XLR and BNC cord to 3.5mm which is awesome. 2. It has a camera hip mode to distribute audio to multiple cameras and IEM mode to have people monitoring, the kicker is that it can do both modes at the same time. 3. The most important feature after I updated them to the 1.2 firmware was that like Zaxcom mics it now allows audio and to be recorded to the body pack and wireless transmission of the signal so drop outs can be fully avoided in post. The body packs are small about an inch shorter than a deck of cards and made of metal so the will last. The only concern is the plastic cover over the buttons as they may wear down after some time. I got the 2 pack and am waiting on the combo of 3 with the receiver to have a full set of 4 for time code on set and monitoring.

Does not work

I purchased these to perform several functions during a professional film project. These do not transmit a consistent signal ever. period. nothing but dropout. We needed these things to work. We wasted a week trying to make them work, researching and academically testing them in many settings. they never worked once. firmware 1.4 16 units all with the same results. do not waste your time or money on these units. so cool on paper, so frustrating in the field.

Piece of Junk

"Jack of all trades, master of none" I bought this as a IFB option and Camera Hub and it was useless. This is the worst piece of equipment I have ever bought. Doesn't have range in any audio mode, the RF hits are all over the place. Sorry Deity, this is a grate idea, poor execution. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Could I use 2 sets of 4 at the same time? For example, could I have 4 camera hops and 4 separate IFBs (using two transmitters, one to send to 4 hops, one to send to 4 IFBs)?
Asked by: Anthony
Up to four mics can be used at the same time within a 328-foot range. This means that you can use two of the Deity Microphones Connect Deluxe Kit 2-Person Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System simultaneously.
