Audio engineers and music producers who love the I Love NY plug-in but wished it went to 11 will be thrilled with the BABY AUDIO Parallel Aggressor, a virtual parallel compression plug-in with added tape saturation, designed to take your tracks to the next level and beyond.
Parallel Aggressor gives you the maximum sonic impact with the lowest possible track count. No extra buses or mix faders needed. The plug-in includes the Spank engine, which provides an addictively punchy compression algorithm with added improvements in sound quality, signal detection, and flexibility. The Heat engine is a warm, analog modeled, saturation algorithm with an aggressive bite, borrowed from the tape saturator in the Super VHS plug-in. Parallel Aggressor includes 25 presets created by industry professionals.
- Balance the three parallel signals from the main level mixer.
- Use the Spank and Heat knobs to dial-up firepower in the parallel engines.
- The meters help you set the right amount of Spank and Heat for any audio signal. (Dial in the main Spank/Heat knobs until the meters peak right before the orange line).
- The style knobs inject desirable sonic flavors into the parallel engines. (Engage multiple at once).
- The solo buttons let you monitor each parallel signal individually.
- Turn on Auto Gain to get a consistent plug-in output, roughly matching the input level.
- Output sets the global output level (post Auto Gain).
- Switch between three different color schemes by clicking the top left icon.
Style injection buttons:
- Extra Punch: Shapes the initial transients of the incoming signal as well as the compressor's envelope settings for a punchier feel.
- Extra Smack: Changes the algorithm's behavior for a more aggressive sound.
- Sidechain Filter: Preserves the low end of your signal.
- Mono: Turns the Spank signal into mono.
Style injection buttons:
- Extra Hot: Activates a second, dirtier, distortion algorithm.
- Tone: Shapes the tone of the distorted signal for more midrange bite.
- HP Filter: Analog-modeled filter, cutting off the low end at 150 Hz.
- LP Filter: Analog-modeled filter, cutting off the high end at 7500 Hz.
- Auto Gain matches the combined output of the plug-in’s three internal signals to the level of the incoming signal (approximately). It can be disengaged at any time.
