Xvive Audio P1 Overview

Looking to power your condenser microphone without draining your recorder's battery? The Xvive Audio P1 is a portable phantom power supply that runs on an internal rechargeable battery with enough power to run high-current microphones.

The rugged P1 features a small, all-metal chassis with rubber feet. It is exceptionally low noise, allowing you to send a single mic to mixing consoles, audio processors, or recording units that don't offer phantom power. The front panel features an on/off switch and a 12/48V switch. The Li-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of use off a single 3-hour charge. A bright array of LEDs indicate battery life to ensure your microphone is properly powered throughout your recording session.

Benefits
  • Full 12 or 48V of phantom power: It's important to always have the correct amount of power for your condenser microphones. With the P1, you will always get a full 12 or 48V of clean phantom power for perfect sound and noise-free performance.
  • Rechargeable battery: The P1 runs on an internal rechargeable battery, which liberates you from power cords and protects you from ground loop issues.
  • Low noise: The unit's well-regulated electronics and precision resistors satisfy the most demanding of digital requirements and provide transparent, noise-free operation.
  • Small footprint: The P1 is guitar pedal-sized, with rubber feet, so it can be mounted on a pedalboard or wherever you need to use it. The all-metal chassis is rugged and durable.
  • Low battery indicator: A flashing LED lets you know when you have less than 10% of battery life left.

hi, when using shotgun mic like MKE 600 or MKH 416 does it still need XLR cable to connect to P1 or you can just plug directly?
Asked by: Gali
Plugging a microphone directly into an XLR input jack is never recommended. Remember that, by the principle of leverage, the force exerted on the connector will be proportional to the length of the mic. You can very quickly end up damaging the pins, or even the jack itself, and when phantom power is involved you also risk a short circuit if this happens. Always use a cable, even if it is a very short cable with low-profile connectors.

Can this be used such as: mic - P1 - FetHead - ...

Can this be used such as: mic - P1 - FetHead - recorder? I'm looking to boost a quiet mic more than the FetHead Phantom can, but then still supply phantom to a condenser mic.
Asked by: Timothy
Wish I could edit questions, but to clarify, my recorder DOES supply phantom power but that will be used to power a FetHead for signal boosting. I'm wondering if the P1 could then be put between the microphone and the FetHead, to power the mic (a variety of mics, really).

How do I make this work with a RODE NtG 2 Mic and the Tentacle Sync Track E Recorder?
Asked by: Tyler
You would go form the Rode NTG-2 using an XLR cable (B&H # KOM3006) into the XLR Mic input on the Xvive Audio P1. You would go from the XLR output on the XVive P1 into the Tentacle Sync Track E Recorder input using a Sennehiser CL-1 cable (BH #SECL2).

is this device can power 12t microphone?

is this device can power 12t microphone?
Asked by: Franois
The Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply with Rechargeable Battery supplies 12 or 48V of phantom power, but does not supply 12V of T power. Although phantom power will not generally damage a T-powered microphone, they use different circuitry and T-power microphones cannot be properly used with phantom power supplies. A recommended T-power product can be found in the Denecke Dcode PS-T Microphone Power Supply (BH #DEPST): https://bhpho.to/3vd9fT2

Will the female XLR output fry my Tentacle Track E with Phantom Power?
Asked by: David
The female XLR connection on the Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply with Rechargeable Battery accepts an input connection and supplies phantom power to connected microphones. The XLR male output connection on the P1 could be adapted to pass signal along to the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder.

Want to mount this to a camera cage/handle ...

Want to mount this to a camera cage/handle somehow; any cinch sort of harness or other creative solution, perhaps with 1/4 20 mounting screws?
Asked by: Thomas
You could use straps like the Pearstone 0.5 x 12" Touch Fastener Straps (Black, 10-Pack (B&H # PES051210B) to attach the Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply. As another option to use a 1/4"-20 mounting screw, you can use the Impact Super Clamp with T-Handle (B&H # IMCC106T), which comes with an Impact Standard Stud for Super Clamp with 1/4"-20 Male Threads (B&H # IMSRP102).
