7artisans Photoelectric 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Reviews

Solid, great landscape lens for Rocket Launches!

This 10mm fisheye is exactly what I needed for up close rocket launches. 10mm seems to be the perfect lens for the shots I'm taking of rockets that practically go over my head when they launch. I typically use it at infinity focus and 16-22 f stop on my Canon R3 or R6 (depending on where I'm at and which one I want the higher resolution on. I do a ton of launch photography and never shoot a launch without this baby.

Very Nice Fisheye Lens!

After reading several online reviews of the 7artisans 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens, I recently purchased one for my Nikon Z 8. It does not disappoint. This lens is incredible and a great value! It is a manual focus lens, but if you are shooting anything farther away than a foot, just set the focus ring to infinity. The lens has almost no lens flare and you can get a beautiful starburst even shooting at f/8. The images I have produced so far are very sharp. It is also a great lens for night sky photography, giving you a very wide filled of view of the night sky. This lens stays in my camera bag!

Never had a lens this wide...so new to me

FF Sony body....bought this to broaden my perspectives. Enjoying very much, seems to give me photos most closely associated with what my eyes see in some scenes. I know that goes against conventional wisdom, as it shouldnt be necessary to use a 10mm for that. Just my experience.

Quite a lens?

Sharp lens! Easy to use. Great for landscape photography. It will be in my bag when I travel to Iceland in May 2023. Heavy and built like an armored vehicle.

For any fisheye lover still out there!

For the few dozen or so of us left that still love the fisheye look, this thing is perfect. Very affordable and the image quality is sharp. The edges are softer but that is to be expected from most super wide lenses anywhere near this price point. If you shoot with a wide aperture, you won't even notice since the background will always be out of focus anyways, so the edges don't matter much for me personally. I am using this on the R5 C and I can't begin to express the joy of being able to shoot fisheye with its full distortion glory in 8k up to 60fps in RAW. I have the 16mm canon prime but it's just not the same, I need that fisheye distortion.

Better than expected

After reading other reviews, I purchased the 7artizans 10mm f 2.8 full frame fisheye lens for my Z9. It's a rather inexpensive investment compared to Nikon Z lenses. I took it on vacation to northern PA last week and tried it out. Shot most of the uploaded images @ f8 - f 16 with variable ISO setting on the Z9. The bridge and interiors were shot hand held, the rest mounted on a tripod with a remote release. Processed RAW files through Adobe Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 24.6 and Topaz Photo AI. Personally, I'm impressed with this lens and expect to capture some exciting images with it in the future. I knocked off a star for the soft corners when shooting wide open @ f2.8. Otherwise, a solid build. Although the 'slip on' lens hood seems to slip off too easily.

Great value for a great lens

Tried out this lens for some playing around with super wide angle for church interiors, ballparks, etc. Something I have not done before. Thought for the money it's not a big loss if the lens is not great. I was so surprised at the build quality and sharpness of this lens. Unless someone were really picky, I think you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between this lens and a much more expensive lens. I was also concerned about it being manual focus. I came to learn that with a super wide angle, it's almost always at infinity or I am shooting a still scene up close and auto focus is not necessary. Long story short, a great lens for a great price!!!

Unfortunately there isn't. 7artisans Photoelectric 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Sony E does not have any communication to the camera so the camera won't be able to register the aperture.
