Lexar LRW550U-RNBNU Reviews
i upgraded from XQD and forgot to get a reader. transfer from Camera was SO slow. this card is way fast. still not as fast as would like, but i'm also using USB A Sontbat may be issue. seems like a really good build quality.
Downloads huge files SO fast! Love it!!
Connection problems on a laptop
When I connect to my Surface Book laptop the connection doesn't remain steady, turning off and on randomly. I don't seem to have the same problem when connected to my desk top computer. It transfers the files as advertised and is compact and easy to use.
Card not secured
I had the same issue as another reviewer - the card can not be read unless I hold the card in with my finger. It worked for a about 6 months, but now it's effectively useless.
Pleased with the Quality and performance
I am pleased. This is a solid and well constructed reader. No issue with heat and performs well.
ProGrade is faster for writes
Write speed is 10 MB/s slower with the Lexar as compared to the ProGrade CFexpress card reader. The ProGrade also reads SD type cards and it has a magnetic base which is great for attaching it to the side of a tower PC or workstation.
Lasted One Week
This reader worked well for three uploads from a same-brand (Lexar) CF Express card. Then it became inoperative. Card will not lock in place or mount to my iMac. I tried with two other cards, to ensure the problem was with the reader - same results. It's now a $60 paperweight.
Tested with Lexar Professional Memory Card CFexpress 256GB 1750MB / s Connected to ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Ryzen9 5900X) Copied to and from Samsung 980 PRO Gen.4, 500GB, NVMe, M.2 ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 Blade Gen.4, 2TB, NVMe, M.2 Read and copy speeds between 190MB / s and 700MB / s Conclusion: RETURN!
