A dynamic wide-angle zoom, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO from Olympus is an ultra-wide Micro Four Thirds zoom lens with the equivalent full-frame format zoom range of 16-50mm. Its sophisticated optical design, which includes a variety of aspherical, low dispersion, and high refractive index elements, reduces both chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range for notable clarity, sharpness, and color accuracy. A ZERO lens coating has also been applied to improve contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Beyond the advanced lens design, this zoom is also characterized by its constant f/4 maximum aperture, as well as its durable weather-sealed construction for working in a variety of conditions. Additionally, a Movie & Still Compatible autofocus system achieves fast, smooth, and silent focusing performance, and a manual focus clutch affords instant switching between focusing methods.

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO Reviews
A Versatile Lens
This lens replaces my Olympus 7-14mm f2.8, and there are many times I can use it without going to my 12-100mm f4.0. It's sharp and focuses very fast. It focuses as close as 9 inches, allowing it to be used for close up shots. I am very pleased that it will accept 72mm screw-on filters. I think I will be using this lens often.
A very nice addition
I've had a chance to use this for a couple of months now, and it has been a surprisingly good addition to my lens bag. I'm an old timer, and for most of my career ISO 400 film was about as fast as you could go without baseball sized grain, but in digital, you can easily pick up an extra two stops without any significant decrease in image quality, which is my way of saying the fact that it is not an f/2.8 or faster is not a bother. The 8-25 range covers about 80% of all the shots I do in train photography, and I have other, more specialized fast lenses for when that's needed. Construction materials and assembly seem both first rate, so if this is like later M. Zuiko lenses might be, I'll have to think about retiring some old friends.
excellent lens!
i've had other ultra-wides for APSC, sigma 10-20 and pentax 12-24, but the oly 8-25 is just so much better. more range, less distortion, better sharpness and a mini-macro to boot. B&H was at their usual excellent service. awesome lens !!!
Unique Lens
Sharp, ideal focal range, amazing close-ups. Take a look at your photos and focal lengths you have used to capture them. Probably, you will find that 70% are in the 8-25 mm range of this lens. One could split hairs over some softness at the edges, but what I like are the color rendition and flexibility of a single 4/3 lens at f 4.0. Unique innovation!
Olympus does it again!
Great lens. Image quality is excellent. A little heavier than I hoped for, all around very pleased.
The lens I've been waiting for my whole life!
I was fortunate to get this lens right when it was released - and it's a PERFECT lens. I've been wanting an ultra-wide for a very long time - but everyone I know who has the Olympus 7-14 pretty much says that it's really just a 7mm (you only use it when ultra zoomed out). This is a perfect single lens for many indoor, street, and nature photo days. I'd get on the list to order one - as it might take a while. It pairs perfectly with the Panasonic 35-100 2.8 in your jacket pocket.
Useful walkabout lens
The lens is fairly compact and has the expected Zuiko Pro build quality. It is sharp and has good close and manual focusing.
Perfect landscape lens
M43 is at it's best when it does things that other systems can't. The focal length range on this is just insane. No more swapping between ultrawide and a regular zoom lenses. I can leave the house with only this lens and get every shot I want to.
