Powering the RING72 is simple with two separately purchased options available: either four AA batteries, alkaline or NiMH rechargeable, or a detachable lithium-ion battery, making the setup thoroughly portable, especially in the field. Additionally, it mounts directly to most lenses and comes with 49, 52, 55, 62, 67, 72, and 77mm adapter rings.

Dual Power

Runs on four separately purchased AA batteries or an optional, detachable lithium-ion battery

Separate Brightness

Brightness has a left/right control to create a realistic lighting ratio. Additionally, the light can give you the broad flat light that's ideal for macro work, but it's a very interesting in portraiture, reflecting circular catchlights in your subject's eyes

Will this work on a SONY lens with 82MM filter size? The manufacturers video shows it being used with a SONY, but will I also need a 82-77mm step-down ring?
Asked by: David
Yes, if you wish, you may use a step-down ring such as the Sensei 82-77mm Step-Down Ring, B&H # SESDR8277, along with the 77mm adapter ring included with the purchase of the Godox Ring72 Macro LED Ring Light to connect the Ring72 Macro LED Ring Light to your lens with 82mm filter threads. Do note that by using a step-down ring to connect a smaller filter adapter ring to your lens which has a larger filter diameter, there is the slight possibility that you may experience some vignetting with the above setup.
